BOTH of my cats are on the bed. The little one is so comfortable, she’s falling asleep snuggled up against me. In nine weeks, this feels like the first time she’s actually been at rest. Not needing cuddles like she’s drowning, just…happy. My heart may explode.

Yesterday, after a full eight weeks of cowering, Princess Jellybean decided that cuddles were worth the risk, and jumped onto the couch to snuggle up to me for the first time. In all my years of cat ownership, I’ve never had one who took so long to relax. But the reward is exquisite.

My wonderful adopted sister is a brown woman. She told me yesterday that her friends are acting weird because my sis has stated she won’t go to parties where the racist “friend” we’ll be.
