It's pretty messed up when I've been a professional artist for over 15 years, AND I like my art, but I'm still like "Gosh, imagine if I was actually good at drawing?"

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:

Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

i decided to adapt adisa's design to give her horns and fangs and a tail bc i think they add to her charm, and it gives me an extra layer to her storybuilding to play with. but thinking of au's, i thought what kaelen'd be like as another species and. ....christ what a fucking mess. anxiety puddle.

the full joy of working out this little world puzzle is just... so comforting tbh. like. i've worldbuilt before plenty of times but i've had kaelen for so so many years and had a set story in mind but it turns out a lot of that didn't quite click. now i'm finding all the missing pieces.

TheMockingCrows @themockingcrows.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

modern au Adisa would be a burnt out nursing student, and modern au Kaelen would be a burnt out flunking nursing student who'd actually be a great chemical engineer.
