20 years today since I heard the words ‘you’ve got a book deal’. I’d been chasing it for 15 years. Wasn’t even sure I had a second book in me. I did. Just goes to show what you can do when you refuse to give up (not a ploy to be recommended for stalkers though - you’ll get into trouble).

I’ll raise all those who say they got their first tattoo at 50. I was 60 - a line from a love letter to my mum from my dad, in his handwriting. He said the sensible thing for them would be to wait to get married and save up, but she’d taken all the sense away from him.
