Stepping off of the internet. Bluesky has been my safe haven for a while not, but I just can't. I can't do it. I can't watch in real time as faith in my countries people gets destroyed by like... 13 rich assholes who played the fear game and won squander every ideology we've ever had. Bye for now

Please don't cancel the US. I know all you see is our horrible leaders right now, but that is not who we are. It's way more who we are than I ever thought it would be, but it still doesn't represent even a majority. A good percentage of us care deeply about the world and its cultures and people.

No. I'm not sure any of mine would, but certainly not Halani.

Halani is... probably an gussied. She is quick and smart and very stubborn but also kind and loyal. Tsahir is a Burnese mountain dog. Big, kind, eager to listen, smart but has a bigger heart. Iveanen is a cat. Or the kind of truly truly wild wolf you know will kill you if you do the wrong thing.

Man... who was Enya most excited to see in Trespasser? That's a *really* tough one. *stares surreptitiously at every single post for the last few months.* So tough. But also, she hadn't seen Dorian in over a year. Most others visited Skyhold at some point, but he'd been planning the Lucerni.

We the people of America have no interest in invading Canada, impuning your sovereignty, or adding you to our nation against your will. You are your own nation and most of use respect that. We are not colonizers. We're just trying to survive while a madman rants. I am so very sorry. 😞

Likely no tidbit today unless I get some good free time later, BUT here are some piles of fabric from the Inquisition cosplay I will be crunch-timing over the next few weeks. (And one of me goofing around before heading to a medieval event yesterday.) #lavellan #dragonage #cosplay

Today's #tidbitoftheday you have all seen before but I am on my way to an event and I'm happy to share this little #solavellan related convo again. Not the least because a lot of people do a lot from Solas' perspective (which I get) but I like sharing my girl Enya with you all. #lavellan #morrigan

Today, we honor the bravery and sacrifice of those who, 60 years ago, marched across the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, Alabama, risking everything for the right to vote and the promise of true freedom. Their courage paved the way, and it’s on us to keep pushing forward.

Today's #Tidbit of the day has been hard won. A week of fighting with this chapter has left me drawn and exhausted and ready to move on but I still have a bit left. I am also recognizing that realistically, this chapter serves very little purpose #DragonAgeInquisition #solavellan (if you squint.)

River @themelodypond.bsky.social · 07/03/2025

Not a Tidbit. This is actually a little analysis I ended up doing by accident this morning, but I want to see how this hits on here. I actually didn't realize that I felt so strongly about the "soulmates" trope with regard to #Solavellan until I started writing. Let me know what you think.

I will answer with a picture. My Valentine's day one, actually. 😀 But seriously, Davrin and Halani are just out there, helping the people who need helped and generally being ghosts. They'd be called reclusive, but distaste is not why they stay away. They are simply avoiding the narrative.

Yes, but it was less about ensuring she was totally prepared and more about accepting that it would happen whether she was ready or not. Her primary concern was making sure that everyone else was prepared for what they would face. She wanted to be as sure as possible her friends would live.

River @themelodypond.bsky.social · 07/03/2025

Enya's wasn't worried about impressing so much as she was focused on making a point. If they were going to expect a Dalish savage, she was going to exceed every expectation, beat them at their own game and win the night. Ambitious, yes, but she was successful. She craved no approval, only success

Today's #tidbitoftheday is a section of a piece I've been fighting for the better part of a week. The premise has been challenging and writing and injured #lavellan pushed me to explore unknown aspects of her character. Additionally, the conflict with #solas was also unexplored. #solavellan #DAI

I mean, actual favorite Video game character that is not a PC? Varric and Solas can fight it out over here. I cannot choose. Maybe Aloy can join that whole mess, too. PC: Enya Lavellan until the skies fall. Love her to death nostalgically and actually. She is like family at this point.

Etymology of the day: ‘book’ comes from an ancient root shared by ‘beech’, a wood that people used for engraving inscriptions. ‘Paper’ comes from ‘papyrus’, and ‘volume’ is from the Latin for a ‘roll’ of parchment. Happy World Book Day.

If Halani were a chicken, she'd cross the road because no one can tell her that she can't. She'd do it and flip the bird at anyone who dared look at her funny. Give 'em a nice "cluck you." Peck her beak in their general direction. Fluff her... you know what I'm done.

Hmmm complex. Regarding Mythal- Enya wore her Vallaslin. She was half a mother to her younger siblings, fiercely protective of her clan and even from a young age, regarded as measured and just. It was a comparison she never discouraged, even took to heart and she chose her as her patron

Today's #tidbitoftheday This is a bit of the fight scene that I had a really fun time crafting. The choreography of a fight can be a challenge. Sometimes you have to write it again and again to make it feel engaging, organic, and if you get it right, you can also show character. #lavellan #TDWC

Powerful moment at the public hearing for the anti-trans legislation being fast tracked through Iowa. Faith leaders gathered above the rotunda to pray and just started singing until people listened. I believe they are singing "we are trans and queer together, we are singing singing for our lives. "
