Got a stupid idea in my head after reading this one and had to draw it.

One of my #neopets headcanons is that Konrana joined and traveled with the main crew during the Void Within plot. And while putting to paper her full backstory, I remembered that scene in the plot when they're all talking about their trauma over tea, and needed to draw this.

Panel 1: Konrana, with very slight tears in her eyes, meekly holds a cup of tea with both hands. She says "So, that is my story."

Panel 2: An illustration of Nyx, Tavi, Pre-Iridesia Baelia and Luxinia all staring back at her in a combination of shock and horror. Most notably is Tavi, jaw completely agape pouring tea into a cup held by Baelia, but the cup is overflowing as Tavi is so shellshocked that she does not realize she is still pouring. Luxinia has both hands cupped over her mouth and is visibly holding back tears.

Juni is not in the illustration because he's too tiny and I didn't know where to put him.

Reluctant to announce that #magexwitch is going on an indefinite hiatus. My job has been crazy busy the last 3 months and I've barely had any free time. When I do, I'm in the stage of burnout where it's hard to do anything. Hopeful things will slow down in Autumn, thank you for your understanding.

Got blocked on Reddit for the wacky and out of pocket opinion that a fictional villain is, in fact, a villain because even though they had a heroic motive, they led a genocide that took out like 9ish planets. They legit said I “lack empathy” for this opinion. I’m losing my mind lmao wtf

Hagatha is stirring a glowing green concotion in her cauldron. Vivian leans into the scene through an open window, peering at Hagatha through green fumes as she asks:

“Hey Hagatha! What’s brewing?”

Hagatha smiles at her and replies “Oh, Vivian, dear! You’re just in time for the finishing touches!”

Panel 2 of 4:

Hagatha’s hands tilt a bowl filled to the brim with an ungodly amount of eyeballs into the cauldron. They land in the green mixture with splooshes and plops.

Vivian, with a shocked yet awed expression exclaims: “Woah! That’s a lot of eyeballs! You must be cooking up one heck of a potion!”

Panel 3 of 4:

Hagatha replies, wagging a finger, “Not a potion, my love! I’m making one of my SPECIAL recipes!”

With her other hand, she is skimming the surface of the cauldron with a cup, catching as many of the eyeballs floating on the surface as she can.

Panel 4 of 4:

Hagatha proudly exclaims the name of her creation: “WITCH BOBA!”

The eyes float at the bottom of the glass of fluorescent green liquid like boba balls.

Vivian stares uneasily at the glass of Witch Boba in her hand. She says to herself “It was nice of Hagatha to spare me a glass, but I don’t know if I’ll like this…I’ve only ever had eyeballs baked into muffins.”

Galem has his staff out, and asks Vivian “Remember that spell I used to clean all the cat hair in your cottage?”

Panel 2 of 6:

Vivian smugly replies “The one that also attracted the cat hair still on Gloop?”

A flashback shows in the background to the previous strip Cat Cleanup where Gloop is flying through the air towards Galem’s Staff

Galem blushes and presses his fingers together, replying “Yeah, that one.”

Panel 3 of 6:

Galem raises his staff and begins casting magic as he says “Well I think I’ve fixed the issue! Now it should only attract the shedded cat hair! So I’m gonna give it another go!”

Panel 4 of 6:

Cat hair from across the cottage is magically floating to Galem’s staff.

Galem says “So far so good”

Vivian watches the spectacle and lets out an excited “ooo!”

Panel 5 of 6:

The top of Galem’s staff is almost completely consumed by a massive hairball. Vivian looks a little nervous but doesn’t say anything, Galem looks a bit nervous and lets out an “Erm…”

Panel 6 of 6:

The hairball has grown so gargantuan that the entire thing doesn’t fit in the panel frame, and Galem and Vivian are visibly cloaked on the shadow of the massive heap of cat hair that hovers over them. More strands are still floating in.

Galem, appalled, asks “When was the last time you cleaned the cat hair in your cottage?”

Vivian, with a nervous and guilty expression replies “When did you try cleaning it the first time?”

Old tumblr post: In this time of term papers, I wanted to draw my patron deity, Bullshitticus, god of students and general last minute fudgery, sitting upon his Golden Futon, attended by the muses Caffeina and Thesaurae, whose powers of artificial energy and pretentious vocabulary can be invoked in case of the all-nighter.

I like to think he's Dionysus' second cousin or something.

Commissioned the great @krintousquids.bsky.social to bring to life a small comic about my FFXIV OC's that I wrote and thumbed back in February! Came out great! Happy to have something to show for these two, and done by my favorite FFXIV artist no less!

Image is Page 1 of a 4 page comic.

Panel 1: Anthe Luxaves, Hyur warrior of light and his Lalafell apprentice Hylas are trekking through a forest. While Anthe walks, Hylas floats beside him.

Hylas asks "Hey, I've got a question"
Anthe replies: "Shoot"

Panel 2: Hylas asks "What's up with your...combat outfit?"
Anthe replies: "Oh? The very unique, super combat-oriented skivvies I wear to battle? That outfit?"

Panel 3: Anthe's combat outfit consisting of a small metal chestplate that only covers a small bit of the front of his torso, a cowboy hat, and a coeurl-print speedo is shown on panel.

Chibi versions of the two are in the panel, continuing the conversation.
Hylas replies: "Are you implying there's more to your panties?"
Anthe replies: "Haha, nah."

Panel 1: Anthe looks into the distance as he says "But I do have my reasons:" He's counting them off on his fingers as he says "It's funny, it lowers my opponents' guards, and it makes whoever I bear look really bad."

Panel 2: He continues "There's also one more super secret reason..."

Hylas smiles and replies "Oh? Enlighten me?"

Panel 3: Anthe replies: "Very Well". Light wraps around him with a Wooooshh as he begins to teleport.

Panel 4: He looks back at Hylas stating "Meet me in Ul'Dah. It'll be best if I explain with a visual."

The gutterspace of the pannel is an establishing shot of the city of Uldah, signifying the change in space.

Page 3 of 4:

Panel 1: Anthe and Hylas' silhouettes walk through the streets of Ul'dah as Anthe begins explaining.

He says: "Now, dealing with Ascians and lost civilizations has taught me one thing: That our deeds and story may live on, but our memory as people is transient. People will remember the Warrior of Light and his protégé..."

Panel 2: The scene shows Anthe and Hylas' shadows overlooking the base of a statue, the placard reads in Eorzean text: "Anthe Luxaves The Warrior of Light"

He continues his monologue: "But the names Anthe and Hylas and what we were like will fade to history. So when our version of Eorzea becomes lost to time like Mhach and Nym before us, I can take solace in this:

Panel 3: The two are looking at something off-panel. Hylas appears to be somewhat shocked and awe'd while Anthe has a somber, satisfied look.

His monologue continues: "That when the people forget our faces, they will conjure new ones in their heads that match our deeds and grandeur. They will chase those images as they aspire to reach out heights."

Page 4 of 4 is one splash panel.

A gold statue of Anthe in his combat outfit from page 1 is revealed to be what the two were looking at.

Anthe's Monologue Continues: "So when they finally see my true visage after digging up one of these statues of the Warrior of Light and they find out the legendary hero was a half-naked cowboy in coeurl skivvies?"

In a big text bubble: "Absolute Pandemonium!"

Hylas, with a completely shocked and flabbergasted smile yells back at him "Oh you're the WORST!"

With a smile, Sollus exclaims “Ah, Vivian my dear! How lovely to run into you again!”

Vivian gives him a wave as she replies “Oh, Hi, Mr. Sollus! What brings you to our coven grounds?”

Panel 2 of 4:

Sollus, now right up near Vivian, replies “I have some business with you coven master! I’m a tad late, so I must continue on my way!”

Vivian replies: “Aw okay, good to see you!”

Panel 3 of 4:

As Sollus’ leaves Vivian behind and his figure retreats deeper into the Treadstrong Coven grounds, Vivian ruminates to herself, thinking: “Wow, the head of the local academy is here to speak directly to our leader! Must be about something important!”

Panel 4 of 4:

Man-Witch (the coven leader) and Sollus are revealed to be watching a sporting event on a crystal ball. The two have changed into blue and red jerseys representing the Dawngate Gatecrashers and are cheering at game on the orb.

Man-Witch yells: “C’mon Gatecrashers!!”

Sollus, with a bowl of chips in hand shouts “Hold onto that ball just a bit longer, my boy!!!”

Art Fight finally made me get around to giving some of the tertiary witches their own full refs. Still have some left to do, but I'm pleased seeing them all side by side like this. Before now I was just using copy/pastes from panels for some characters Sand-Witch and Lilac as references.

Gave my FFXIV OC Hylas an updated ref sheet in preparation for Art Fight! Her previous art was a bit too outdated, and I really wanted to both clean it up as well as draw out the way I picture her fighting. Despite not really doing much with my FFXIV OC's I think about them often.
