Here's a good start for ditching Google AI: udm14.com You can also switch to a different search engine for normal search, one that doesn't use GenAI or has a clear disable function.
udm14.com
&udm=14 | the disenshittification Konami code
A quick way to get an AI-free search without any extra work.

I see a result of this in gen ed writing classes—intermingled with a generalized awareness of 360-degree surveillance—as an unwillingness to say clearly what one believes, or even a difficulty saying one *has* a belief, or a desire, or an aesthetic preference (beyond "like"), and arguing for it

It's one thing when your audience is impossible to please babies who want MEGATON ANNOUNCEMENTS and GREATEST MOST EPIC TITLE OF ALL TIME for every release It's quite another when the people funding your publisher are demanding the same.

This week on the blog: Our look at the structures of life for peasant farmers continues with children and childrearing. We model some plausible birth patterns for an ancient peasant farming society (Roman Egypt) and think through the implications for daily life. acoup.blog/2025/08/08/c...

I can only imagine morale in the military is great given that they're watching people they've served with for years and years and who have busted their asses getting thrown out with no benefits and no retirement despite having earned it and qualifying for it.

Weird, I don't remember rushes on the store to buy eggs. Weird how the price has gone up as well.

I am a refugee from Twitter and hope to be more positive in this place. The world is hard to be positive in right now. It's strange to realize you're the optimist in the room because you start to lose it.
