Happy World Animal Day, everypawdy! 🐾 Zeppo ShatzPaws is my furry best friend in the whole waggedy world (and @thelap.bsky.social trusted Pawalegal). ShatzPaws infuses my life with levity and laughs and reminds me not to take things TOO seriously! He’s also become a DogFluencer in his own right!

Glad House Judiciary GOP leadership is requesting info on the sham of an investigation into Judge Eleanor Ross. Wish I could meaningfully engage some House Dems on this topic (I always raise it!). Beyond time for House Judiciary Cmte to flex its constitutionally mandated oversight authority.

Eleanor Ross shouldn’t be a judge. But if we wait on Congress or the courts, we’ll be waiting forever. In @abovethelaw.com I explain what Congress, the judiciary, + the rest of us should do to hold judges like Ross accountable. @thelap.bsky.social abovethelaw.com/2026/07/inac...

Congress should stop writing the judiciary a blank check while they flout congressional authority + abuse their power. The Appropriations Cmte should tie the courts’ budget request to meaningful benchmarks for reform or cut their budget until they implement reforms. @thelap.bsky.social

There’s an effort underway in DC to remake the country in the image of one man. Yet across the country, we see displays of patriotism, heroism, and sacrifice. Those represent the best of us: people bravely standing up, speaking out + fight back against abuses of power at great risk.

The federal judiciary is perpetrating a fraud upon the public. Judge Merriam is yet another example, on the heels of Eleanor Ross, of the judiciary’s repeated failure to “self-police” despite insisting it can; and lack of discipline for judges who abuse their power. @thelap.bsky.social
