It's National Pie & Mash week so popped up to Camden to give my support to one of my favourites. Pies are top drawer, the mash always a lovely consistency, lots of parsley in the liquor. And the chilli vinegar is 🔥. £5-75 for a plate of steaming hot traditional London grub. Lovely jubbly 👌

200 years ago today, on 27th Sept 1825, an event took place in the northeast of our little country that changed the world. Locomotion 1, built by George Stevenson, became the first steam locomotive to carry passengers on a public railway line between Stockton & Darlington. Happy 200th anniversary.

Oscar Wilde's grave at Père Lachaise. Carved from a 20 tonne block of stone 'The Flying Demon Angel' was designed by Jacob Epstein after Oscar's death in 1911. Surrounded by two metre high plastic panes to prevent the traditional kissing the monument which left it covered in lipstick #Paris

Well that was magnificent. Soaring tunes, choreographed beautifully and several absolutely mesmerising 'pas de deux' throughout, the final one in Act III had the house hypnotised for 20 minutes, it was magical. Sensational production. The opera and ballet ticked, I guess I need to read the book now.

Back in Covent Garden tonight for Tchaikovsky's much lesser known ballet 'Onegin'. This is the famous and much loved 1965 production choreographed by John Cranko for the Stuggart Ballet, based on the opera of 1879, which was itself based on the book by Pushkin of 1833. #London #ballet #opera

Hidden in plain sight, a piece of #London #history. Vincent Street Fireplace in Westminster. Once part of the cosy interior of a terraced house, bombed in WWII. Today it is outside the gates of a modern block of flats. I do think a plaque should be added to explain it's significance. #walking

The K8 telephone box designed by Bruce Martin between 1965 and 1966, and commissioned by the General Post Office. This Grade II-listed kiosk can be found on Platform 3 at High Street Kensington station. Only around 50 K8 boxes survive, as BT removed most in the 1980s. #London #history
