Pass it along; post your uncropped profile picture in all its glory. This one is rather outdated, but I haven't made a new one that manages to properly fit everyone into it yet and now I have nine of these nerds to potentially make fit.

#LadiesOfLightLore It depends on the person and the situation. I've explained it as best I can below. OOC, the tl;dr is "don't talk about my characters in those terms unless we know each other particularly well", and I try to return the favor unless given permission.
    • If Miri is somewhat familiar with the person, she doesn’t mind cat jokes or references. If not, she gives them a dirty look and tells them not to.
    • Khorijin and Khoride both dislike it immensely from strangers and really only accept it from very close friends. With either of them it could even be theoretically interpreted as an outright challenge to a fight, so don’t.
    • Rija doesn’t mind being called a rabbit and will occasionally refer to herself that way explicitly for jests or to tease, but she can tell when someone says it as an insult and will respond accordingly.
    • Literally, unless they are one of Helena’s partners or at least a moderately close friend, no one should ever call her a cat. She is a grown woman and being treated like anything less will piss her off something fierce.
    • Zardaar is similarly unamused at being called a goat and will take it as a challenge in any context.

OOC, it's kind of complicated. Personally, I usually only address my non-Hyur characters by their animal resemblances as a joke, but if we're not familiar with each other and you do it, the vibe is a little off. If you generically refer to Hroths as cats or whatever, I don’t explicitly mind, but I'd prefer that random folks on the internet don’t direct any of that intent directly to my characters unless we’ve gotten to know each other well.

#LadiesOfLightLore It depends on who, really. The short answer is "only one person specifically, possibly two".
Mirita: She predates the existence of Tural taking the accent, so despite being Ul'dahn/Ala Mhigan she sounds like she's from the American South, with a lot of dropped vowels and a tendency to make cat-like noises when she talks, m'yeah?
Voice claim: A more nasal version of Ashleigh Ball's Applejack in Friendship is Magic.

Khorijin: A notable Mongolian accent with a very precise, somewhat antiquated vocabulary and syntax.
She doesn't use contractions.
Voice claim: Ryan Bartley's Rei Ayanami in the Khara dubs of Evangelion, moreso in terms of delivery than actual vocal register.

Rija: A rolling, lilting accent tilted a little more toward Dalmasci/Italian than
Golmorri/Icelandic. She tends to use "yes?"/"no?" as an intensifier at the end of her sentences.
Voice claim: Gina Grad portraying Rose in Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter V, just a little deeper but with that accent.

Khoride: Pretty much exactly like Khorijin, but a good octave and change deeper and with a tendency to draw out her words.
Same voiceclaim as Khorijin, they're twins, just pitch Ryan Bartley's delivery down a little.Ystride: Very much the sort of standard Received Pronunciation British you'd expect from a posh Elezen, despite being nominally Ishgardian.
Voice claim: Caitlin Glass as Cammy White in Street Fighter IV, V, and 6, but raspier and a little bit softer.

Euphemia: Warm, lightly Scottish-sounding accent that blends in a bit of Jamaican English (not Jamaican Patwa; she does have a bit of that but not when she's speaking more formally) with a relatively deep tone.
More casually, the Jamaican Patwa comes in a bit more, and she may slip in a contraction or two where she normally doesn't.

Helena: Low, rumbling Slavic accent, likely something close to either Russian or Czech.
She will sometimes use contractions, but not very often.
Voice claim: Cindy Robinson's Helen/Kolin from Street Fighter V.

Zardaar: A nasal, but somewhat deep accent that is similar to Helena's but tends to emphasize Cs as Ks and Ds as breathier Ts when at the end of the word.

Anaya: Still figuring it out, but likely a more neutral American accent and probably a slip or hint of light Received Pronunciation every now and then, since she would’ve picked up Eorzean from Gridanians.

#LadiesOfLightLore #Ystride and #Euphemia are pretty much the only two that are average height; everyone else is much taller than average. (Context: #Mirita = Miqo'te, #Khorijin & #Khoride = Au Ra, #Rija = Viera, Ystride = Elezen, Euphemia = Highlander*, #Zardaar = Draenei, #Anaya = Night Elf.)
A height chart displaying multiple women standing side-by-side with their heights listed out. Mirita is 6'1"/185.4 cm, Khorijin and Khoride are 6'2"/188 cm, Rija is 7'3"/221 cm, Ystride is 6'6"/198.1 cm, Euphemia is 6'4"/193 cm, Helena is 7'8"/233.7cm, Zardaar is 7'4"/223.5 cm, and Anaya is 7'10.5"/240 cm. • Mirita is 6 fulm 1 ilm/186 cm. She doesn't think a lot about how tall she is even though she's aware that she's much taller than many Miqo'te; she's mostly just Used To It at this point.
    • Khorijin and Khoride are 6 fulm 2 ilm/190 cm. Much like Mirita, Khorijin does not think very much about it, whilst Khoride revels in it and enjoys it, mostly for intimidation but also for seduction.
    • Rija is 7 fulm 3 ilm/223 cm. She is very proud of her height as well, and has gotten used to fielding Many Questions about it. Given that many other Viera in her family are at least her height or will grow that tall, she doesn't think anything of it.
    • Ystride is 6 fulm 6 ilm/200 cm. They’re happy with it mostly because it means she’s not that much different from any other Elezen at a glance. It also makes a funny because this means that they're Khori and Ride's big little sister.
    • Euphemia is 6 fulm 4 ilm/193 cm. She is aware it is a perfectly Highlandery height to be, and is not worried about it.
    • Helena is 7 fulm 8 ilm/234 cm. She used to be self-conscious about it when she was younger, thinking it might not have been queenly, but grew into it over time and now regards it rather neutrally most of the time.
    • Zardaar is 7 fulm 4 ilm/223.5 cm. She was more uncomfortable with it pre-transition, but post-transition and adjusting to the changes in her body shape, she’s fine with it and it’s probably one of the few things she’s subtly rather proud of, though she’s a little shy about actively flaunting it.
    • Anaya is 7 fulm 10.5 ilm/240 cm. Much like Rija, she takes a lot of pride in her height, and did even before transitioning, though she needed a bit of extra time to adapt her training to being stealthy to compensate for it. Now, she uses it as a distraction and seduction tactic when and where it’s appropriate.

#LadiesOfLightLore #Khorijin has an older sister, Berude. She is definitely more "minor antagonist" coded than "villain" coded, but she is Khorijin's arrogant, haughty asshole of an oldest sister who bullied Khorijin for being withdrawn and being a "poor warrior", making their family look bad. >>

#Ystride (she/they) is selectively mute; it was way worse when they first re-emerged from Khorijin just before Endwalker. All the Ladies picked up sign language to help her communicate, and nowadays she mostly signs when super flustered, overwhelmed, or with their mute partner. #LadiesOfLightLore

A rare one where I don't talk about how each Lady feels individually. This excludes Helena and Zardaar for the most part, because Helena has only met Halmarut and Zardaar has yet to meet Halmarut, I think. #LadiesOfLightLore
Generally speaking, Elidibus gets the most sympathy, sort of, in the sense that he's been so subsumed by his duty that it's hard for any of the Ladies who have met him to hate him.
Emet-Selch gets the least sympathy because everyone knows and can tell that he *knew* what he was doing was wrong but actively suppressed his conscience to do it.
Lahabrea also gets less sympathy mostly because the Ladies look at him as being roughly in the same position as Emet-Selch, even as Pandaemonium does make clear that some of the worst impulses he has to deal with aren't entirely of his own making.

No one likes Fandaniel, and even understanding where his grievances come from they find him despicable.
On principle, no one really wants to trust Halmarut.
Former Ascians are no problem if they actively Stop Scheming and give up on Ascian-like goals.Euphemia is where this gets most complicated, as Azem-who-was.
Hades was her close friend, but she unequivocally thinks that he was wrong, even though she understands his grief. Nothing justifies what he's done. She wasn't nearly as close to Lahabrea or Elidibus, but does have at least more sympathy for them, having a better understanding of just what happened to them both even as she disapproves of their decision.

The Sundered Ascians...she holds the same position as the other Ladies, in that she wishes they'd chosen differently. Fandaniel in particular she has a hard time feeling deep sympathy for because she intrinsically believes that people should search for their own answers, and whatever Hermes' intentions, he essentially threw his children at his existential crisis because he didn't want to face it himself.
Though she wants to know more of Halmarut's intentions, Euphemia prinicipally distrusts the idea of hard people making hard choices and doesn't like how Halmarut is thinking of dealing with the Solstice.
Former Ascians, though? Completely chill with as long as they're actively being Better.
She'd dote on Gaia like a granddaughter, for example.

Sorry, I went ham, as always. Universal honorable mentions for change by the AU fanfic writer's butcher block: - Removing any hint of polyamory - Rija and Helen aren't bi anymore
Mirita would probably just get the spirited Son Goku-esque tomboy treatment, who either stays incredibly butch and clueless about what sex and relationships are or gets enlightened to them by becoming more girly or being the "butch" one.
The real Mirita *does* has an extremely hot temper when she gets pissed off, but is not really a rough person in personality overall nor is she completely oblivious about sex and relationships. A lot of it is the demisexuality, but a large part of it is also just deliberately not thinking about her own identity, or her own insecurities about not knowing her own family history; a lot of her external personality is really her, but a lot of it is also projecting the type of person she wants to be.

Khorijin would probably get written as a frigid, man-hating lesbian at the expense of anything else, or would wind up opening her heart to Foulques during the Lancer storyline and would become a warm-hearted, compassionate person by the end of that.
The real Khorijin is misandric and emotionally repressed for the vast majority of
ARR and Heavensward, but not so completely that she can't break through it sometimes (see: the real Khorijin *does* ensure Foulques's survival, but she is kind of a dick to him about it the entire time), and it takes Haurchefant and Ysayle dying for her to finally admit that her own misandry and emotional unavailability are large parts of her own misery.
Rija would likely be written as the slutty comic relief character because
she's bi and flirty and proud of her body, leaning into some colorist nonsense to boot, or a hack would take her Thancred connection and use that to imply she just didn't find the right man to settle her down—but he can!
The real Rija is actually a bit of a mom friend, to asuffocating degree sometimes, and while she *is* flirty and proud of her body,
she also just...she's somewhere on the demiromantic scale, and she's bi as fuck. While she does like sex and has a fair bit of it, it's not because she's hypersexual or whatever; she just connects really well to people with sex a lot of the time. Not *always*, but a lot of the time. There is no one who can "settle her down" enough to make her stop being herself, and that's the point of her character.

Khoride, being Khorijin's Fray, would probably be treated as either a warning against vigilantism or used to lionize it, and a sanist take on plurality, mostly a "oh no, Khorijin has lost control of her killing instincts and has DID" type beat.
The real Khoride has to learn both that it's not wrong to be resentful AND that dismantling unjust systems means
aiming at the *system*, not just the people who run it, and she does become a more fully realized person over time.
However, the real Khoride also does not lose her penchant for violent sadism when she's pushed too far or wants to make a point; she literally named herself a Devil Goddess specifically to spite Vauthry calling himself
a god, and did gruesomely torture him as he was dying after the 79 trial on Mt. Gulg specifically because he hurt Kai-Shirr. Ystride, being Khorijin's Myste, would probably get the uwu soft bean treatment to excess, with her selective mutism being completely cured by making friends, and would probably remain a child to facilitate that. Being nonbinary would probably be rationalized as "being confused about being a mix of Haurchefant and Ysayle alongside Khorijin's own self-perception".
The real Ystride is an adult and reasons like one, and has to come to terms with a guilty streak that borders on being a certain type of arrogance & a judgmental streak a mile wide because they treat Khorijin & Khoride
like heartless murderers because of the lives they've both taken.
The two major points of their character arc are "stop self-flagellating over your mistakes, because that's another form of self-obsession" & "Khorijin and Khoride aren't violent killing machines, stop treating them like they are". No amount of soft bean treatment will make that lesson clear for Ystride without them being treated like an adult.

Euphemia would probably be extremely open about how lonely she actually feels with Hades and Hythlodaeus gone, and the gaps in her memories that exist. She'd be welcomed into the Ladies' circle with open arms and be the
perfect mother figure for all of them, using her Azem powers to fix a bunch of shit with a snap of her fingers in ways that the Ladies who sharded from her can't. The real Euphemia...sort of did actually wind up like this fake one, but with a lot more grief and melancholy hidden beneath her smiles, and no willingness to simply flaunt her power carelessly.
A lot of what characterizes Euphemia is not just the sincerity of her softness and her gentleness, but also how she uses that to deflect from a lot of wistful grief about the Ancient world, about how she chose to
abandon both Venat and the Convocation to walk her own road, how Emet-Selch became such a twisted parody of a person, and how in some way she really might not be the entirely same "Euphemia" that was Azem.Helena's badass stoicism would be played entirely straight with only one very special chapter where she monologues about the difficulties of her life and promises to be softer and gentler.
The real Helena is a lot like Khorijin in that she doesn't really open up to the group very much to start off with and even is a bit standoffish immediately after Dawntrail is over despite coming to like the group. She can be demanding, acerbic, and imperious, and doesn't make herself emotionally open easily.
And none of that is necessarily something to be *fixed*, precisely. She knows it puts some people off, but it is who she is. She does her best not to push when someone gives her a lot of control over them, but she knows who she is and she lives with that. She does learn to *give* a little on that front, but she doesn't stop being herself either, and the Ladies come to understand how she operates rather than force her to change.

Zardaar would probably get written into a romance with Kelis immediately after meeting her, and would probably be written to settle down with her as her stoic badass protector knight.
The real Zardaar does have a romantic and emotional attachment to Kelis, and does have a protective side, but also couldn't bring herself to just stay "where it's safe" either. Her emotional trauma from before coming to Eorzea wouldn't allow for that, even with Kelis being kind to her; it's hard for Zardaar to just sit around and do nothing, or only satisfy herself protecting Kelis, especially since Kelis is really largely a normal woman living a normal life; Zardaar inevitably wants to move past Ul'dah even if she intends to keep her connection to Kelis.

#LadiesOfLightLore I will probably, eventually, examine the Khorijin, Khoride, Ystride/Kuyuk connection more deeply at some point. Maybe the same for Rija and Agnar, but I've noticed that (maybe because of my own personal circumstances) that dads don't figure a lot into the Ladies' lives.
- Mirita never met M'jalla, but also loves and respects him as much as she does her mother M'toko since she got to see both of them in an Echo vision and got a concrete sense of how much he loved her.

- Khorijin's other parent Kuyuk (Kuyuk would reject the term "dad" not so much because they don't think of themselves as parent material, but because they're not a dude) knows that Khorijin exists, but doesn't have any relationship with Khorijin either.
Gorbeljin didn't hide Kuyuk's existence from Khorijin or Berude (who is the only other one of Gorbeljin's first four daughters that shares Kuyuk as a parent), but Khorijin never had a particular interest in learning more about Kuyuk.
As she *currently* is, Khorijin would probably get along well with them all told.

- Rija similarly doesn't know Agnar very well; he knows she exists, he knows she exists, but he does a lot of more traditional Wood Warding and they've spoken maybe a handful of times. They don't dislike each other but things would be awkward at first.

- Khoride and Ystride's other parent would be Kuyuk, so see Khorijin's section for the majority of how that goes.

- Euphemia had a pretty good, normal bond with Andronikos and remembers him fondly; much like Euphemia's mother Sophia, he passed on before Euphemia came of age, so she has enough memories of him to have an idea of who he was but never got to know him as his adult child.- Helena gets along just fine with Sambor; he's a goofy, light-hearted sort of guy, not at all serious like Helena or Vesna, but Helena has never had any real problems with him and enjoys his jokes.

- Zardaar deeply respected Kaanvil, and loved him deeply; he was supportive of her when she expressed a desire to transition, and supported her desire to help continue the work of cleaning up the remnants of the Iron Horde. Unfortunately, Yrel's Lightbound fanaticism swept him up due to his own unresolved trauma over the events of Warlord of Draenor, which Zardaar herself didn't appreciate and which turned their relationship unpleasant.
Now, stranded in Eorzea, she doesn't think about him if she can help it.

As always when I respond to Ikumi asking such good questions: I had to yap. #LadiesOfLightLore
- Mirita never knew her biological mother, but has seen Echo-visions of her.
She loves her deeply despite not having had the chance to meet her, especially after learning that her mother worked so hard to get Mirita to safety at the cost of her own life. However, Euphemia is very much a doting and caring mother to her (though it took a lot of post-Endwalker to build that up), and they get along wonderfully.

- Khorijin and Gorbeljin get along wonderfully, though at first glance it
doesn't seem so due to their shared "stoneface" making it seem like their relationship is very stiff from the outside. They relate to each other very well and can have entire conversations with just the barest facial expressions and the occasional word or noise.
Her relationship with Euphemia is by contrast a little more distant, though
by Dawntrail Khorijin acknowledges her as a second mother in her quiet way.

- Rija has a good relationship with her mother, though they do have a few things to address mostly in terms of what we would call "parentification" mostly because Rija had more than a few occasions where she had to help raise her younger sisters and sibling and it played into a few complexes she had about being the mom friend as an adult.
Part of that process is Rija gradually accepting Euphemia as a second mother too, which is a bit easier than it is for Khorijin and Khoride mostly because of how gently Euphemia approaches motherhood.- After learning about Khoride, Gorbeljin and Khoride gradually come to terms with their relationship, though Gorbeljin is rather startled to learn that she has two additional younger children (Khoride and Ystride). For her part, Khoride has inherited Khorijin's care and respect for Gorbeljin.
Euphemia and Khoride have an equally slow build up as Euphemia and Khorijin, but eventually it comes to fruition.

- Ystride and Gorbeljin take a little time to become comfortable with each other; though Ystride holds Gorbeljin in high regard due to her inherited memories of Gorbeljin, one of Ystride's biggest fears is that they're not "Borlaaqi" enough for Gorbeljin to connect with her (which really isn't the case, but Ystride's
own shyness and insecurities make it a little harder for her to read Gorbeljin
the way Khorijin and Khoride do).
Similarly to Mirita, though, her relationship with Euphemia is pretty good,
and next to Mirita she's the closest to Euphemia of the five Ladies who consider Euphemia a second mother.

- Euphemia herself had a fairly good relationship with Sophia, though she
unfortunately didn't get to come to her majority while Sophia was still
alive. She has a complicated relationship with Venat, who was essentially her second mother in the same way that Euphemia is Mirita, Khorijin, Khoride, Rija, and Ystride's second mother; she loved Venat dearly but couldn't accept either Venat's answer to the Final Days nor the Convocation's, and left Venat on somewhat bittersweet terms.
- Helena and Vesna get along fine; while Vesna spent a lot of time on
queenly responsibilities and the like growing up, Helena learned how to use
a gunblade directly *from* her mother, and they spent a lot of time with
each other both related to those duties and not; while Helena's decision
to become a member of the nascent Bozjan resistance immediately after the Bozja Incident did cause a little tension, they did *eventually* talk
about it.

- Zardaar's relationship with Altalaa was wonderful; she supported Zardaar
coming out to her and helped ensure her transition, alongside Zardaar's father Zalhaam. However, the stresses of the events of Warlords of Draenor as well as the following years caused Altalaa to become more and more sympathetic to the Lightbound, which sours her relationship with Zardaar well before Zardaar's self-appointed mission to stop the Lightbound from chasing the Mag'har to Azeroth.
Zardaar tries not to talk about or think about her mother in the present day.

Everyone that isn't Euphemia answers with the truth, because Euphemia telling the strict truth sounds like a lie. The in-universe ages of the Ladies as of this post & patch 7.5 are below. Characters without a * will have their ages bumped by a year by the time Evercold starts. #LadiesOfLightLore
Mirita: 33* (June 11)
Khorijin, Khoride: 34* (April 15)
Rija: 38 (December 26)
Ystride: 32 (October 14)
Helena: 44* (June 28)
Euphemia: 39 (physically), 37,414 (chronologically, resuming the count from her age of 37,412 when sundered) (December 13)
Zardaar: 37 (December 22)

Recent change: I created & named an NPC for Helena's time in Tural (Ty'at Malkoh, her Viper trainer), & finally nailed down the time she left Bozja for there & when she came back (left Bozja post-ARR, came back while the Ladies were on the First; Save the Queen was after they returned). (2/2)

The ones that most immediately come to mind: - Mirita: MNK questline - Khorijin, Khoride, Ystride together: DRK questline. - Rija: Return to Ivalice - Ystride alone: MCH questline - Euphemia: Pandaemonium, Myths of the Realm - Helena: Bozja - Zardaar: N/A for now. Explainer yap is below.
- Miri doesn't *know* she's Ala Mhigan till Stormblood, but inadvertently winds up having something of a connection crisis with MNK in Heavensward when she's faced with the idea that O'tchakha and D'zentsa respect her as essentially Widargelt's second-in-command and the main person in this somewhat reconstructing Fist of Rhalgr that's stronger than him. Then she learns she's Ala Mhigan during Stormblood MSQ *and* has to deal with the MNK StB storyline at the same time as all of that going on, and when it's done she has to start piecing together how she really feels about her own legacy.

- Khorijin essentially has to come to terms with her worst traits through DRK, not so much because Khoride and Ystride *only* embody those traits but because she essentially fed both of them with her resentment and her guilt respectively, cutting them off from growth until she accepted her own failings and gained the resolve to face her guilt without being consumed by it. Once she did that, Khoride and Ystride in turn had the space to grow as people themselves.

- Return to Ivalice brings Rija back to two places she left behind, one freely, one by necessity—those places being Dalmasca, where she was once a resistance member, and Golmore, which she left behind for Dalmasca initially. She was not exiled from her home village of Muscadet, and Muscadet allows its inhabitants to travel and move about as they see fit, but her departure from Dalmasca was very bittersweet and she hadn't had opportunity to come back to Golmore since leaving.- While technically the questlines take place in the patch they were set in, I bent this rule for Ystride for Machinist precisely because machinistry is the first thing they take interest in that isn't what you would call an inherited skill or interest from Khorijin or Khoride; Ystride *choosing* machinistry and by proxy magitek and aetherological study is one of the first things she does for herself.

- Euphemia wasn't conscious for the Ladies' first trip to Elpis, as she didn't start to incarnate until after their trip to the Mothercrystal. Pandaemonium and Myths of the Realm give her an opportunity to not only regain her strength as a combatant but also get at least *some* closure regarding parts of her life.

- Helena has a deep and abiding love for Bozja, so seeing it freed is critically important to her. She never meets the Ladies directly while they happen to be in Bozja helping to liberate it, but her work is essentail to the success of the Southern Front's operations.

#LadiesOfLightLore (Said dear friend in Zardaar's name story is @selnyam.bsky.social. Thank you for giving her that name.)
Mirita's name and surname are from a Dungeons and Dragons game I was in many years ago. I chose it without knowing Seeker naming conventions, and eventually turned it into a plot point because it's the name Mirita chose for herself; she didn't know her birth name growing up and the name the orphanage gave her offended her.

Khorijin and Rija's names are both from the in-game character generator, but I spun until I liked something that sounded right. This also goes for their surnames.

Khoride's name is a combination of the names "Khorijin" and "Berude", the latter being Khorijin's oldest sister. This is largely because Khoride *has* a lot of superficial similarities with Berude, similarities she feels no shame about claiming, but has become her own person.

Ystride's name is similarly a combination of "Ysayle" and "Khoride", in part because much like Khoride she is one of Khorijin's headmates properly empowered by the Dark Knight crystal. Her surname is a combination of "Borlaaq" and "Dangoulain", again mixing traits from Khorijin, Khoride, and Ysayle.

Euphemia's name was chosen by looking through old Grecian names and finding one that matched her personality.

Helena's was chosen just for the sound of it, though her surname is rolled from the in-game generator.

Zardaar's name was actually chosen by a dear friend.

#LadiesOfLightLore A fun fact is that I design most characters around two colors. (Euphemia gets three because for Lore Reasons she blends a bit of Mirita, Khorijin, and Rija's aesthetics.) They're listed below.
Mirita: Dalamud Red + Jet Black
Khorijin: Storm Blue + Pure White
Rija: Cherry Pink + Jet Black (inverted for goth mode)
Khoride: Void Blue + Pure White
Ystride: Sky Blue + Pure White
Euphemia: Jet Black + Dalamud Red + Storm Blue
Helena: Marsh Green + Honey Yellow + Sunset Orange
Zardaar: Royal Purple + Sky Blue

#LadiesOfLightLore
- Mirita would probably short-circuit if they're her type and if they keep it both consistent and largely respectful, or would completely miss it if they're not her type. The former is how she got one of her partners; the latter is how she entirely missed any signals Haurchefant might have been throwing her way.
- Khorijin would probably shrug it off or blink it off unless the flirter has been making an effort to get to know her directly, and even then she probably wouldn't flirt back as much as she would accept the compliment directly. Men would basically have zero shot at it.
- Rija would probably flirt right back, and brazenly, because she's shameless, knows she's hot, and likes to flaunt it.
- Khoride would also flirt right back, though the primary way to stand a chance of getting a sincere flirt back is generally not to be a dude, much like with Khorijin.
- Ystride would probably take the compliment with a blush, at least if the flirter is not too aggressive about it. Extremely sexual flirting right off the bat doesn't do it for them at all.
- Euphemia would possibly flirt back if the mood takes her and if she likes the flirter's energy. If not, she'd probably thank them for the compliment and keep it moving. She can be playful about it and doesn't mind a good set of flirt-offs, but only if the mood's set.
- Helena would casually flirt back if she felt like it, or just take the compliment if she didn't. She's very used to people taking their shots but is also very Bozjan Wine Auntie about it, so it doesn't really bother her much.
- Zardaar would probably blush a little and attempt to ignore it from a complete stranger or smile a little from someone she knows better. Social isolation has not done her any great set of favors.

#LadiesOfLightLore Astral/umbral here refer to the Source's understanding of these polarities, where astral is active and umbral is passive.

Mirita: Astral lightning.
Khorijin: Umbral water & ice.
Rija: Astral wind.
Khoride: Astral fire.
Ystride: Umbral ice & water.
Euphemia: Umbral earth.
Helena: Umbral wind.
Zardaar: Light.*

*Zardaar's light aether is unaspected entirely, unlike Light's presumed astral properties, though hints of earth may be sinking into her aether as her body acclimates to this universe and takes in aether.

#LadiesOfLightLore None of the Ladies that met Zenos agree with him at all. Mirita, Khorijin, and Khoride all directly despise him, Rija and Ystride think he's projecting, and Euphemia just pities him. Explained a little more fully below.
Mirita likes fighting and pushing herself, but that's because fighting is like making conversation to her, at least most of the time. If you enter a conversation with the intent to dominate and break someone,
it's not a conversation, and between that and the fact that his family conquered her home, indirectly got her parents killed, and that Zenos himself stole her body and threatened the twins while in it...no way would she ever accept his framing.

Khorijin and Khoride are offended by the implication because they already both dislike the idea that the Xaela are "primitive" or "savage" by fascist Garlean standards, so any implication that they're alike to Zenos even in a mirroring way is equivalent to validating that viewpoint and they violently reject that notion.

While Rija and Ystride don't mind a fight every now and again, they're not anywhere near as fight-prone as Mirita, Khorijin, or Khoride, so the idea that they're anything like Zenos makes no sense to them at all, and they just think he's projecting their strength into his worldview when neither of them think the way he does.

And Euphemia sees how he's essentially a product of the system who raised him *and* a grown man who made his choices again and again, and finds it pitiable that he never could find any happiness except by doing all of this.

Whoever Zenos's mirror is in the Ladies' world, it's not any of them.

#LadiesOfLightLore And as a bonus: #Fubuki and #Touka, who are the Ladies' shared retainers, are both from Hingashi; they both like it well enough, though they were happy to find work in Kugane, and I picked Hingashi because I wanted to have Black Hingans around, as a treat for myself.
Mirita: Ala Mhigo. She didn't know about it until a convenient Echo vision during Stormblood at the Peering Stones, but once she found out she became *quite* intent on learning more.
I wound up picking it largely because, out of character, I wanted to come up with a reason why Mirita's name wasn't a proper Seeker one, and that led me to researching where the M clan came from and going from there.

Khorijin, Khoride: The Azim Steppe. They both fiercely love the Steppe with all their hearts, and travel back for the Naadam every year or whenever they happen to be near Yanxia.
The Steppe was chosen largely because that's where Xaela of clan Borlaaq are from.

Rija: The Golmore Jungle. Much like Khorijin and Khoride, she goes back there whenever she can, as the Green Word is not so harshly kept in the Ladies' canon that she's barred from returning home.
Much like with Khorijin and Khoride, I chose Golmore because that's where Rava themselves come from.

Ystride: Technically, she has no actual "birthplace", though Ishgard comes closest, with the Azim Steppe next.
They once had...complicated feelings about Ishgard, but after joining up with the Skysteel Manufactory and working with Stephanivien, they've come to like it more and more, and after traveling to the Steppe to meet her closest thing to a bio-mom (Khorijin and Khoride's), she's grown to love it there too.

With Ystride it's complicated because she's Khorijin's "Myste", and while she first incarnated in Ishgard, a lot of complicated feelings that created Ystride were from as early as ARR through Stormblood, most notably Khorijin's unrequited feelings for Ysayle, unjustified jealousy of Haurchefant, and her subsequent regrets about both. The Steppe is the home that passively ensured Ystride's existence; Ishgard is what *actively* did.Euphemia: The World Unsundered, though not Amaurot or Elpis but an island, somewhere tropical and warm.
It's the place where her parents were born and grew up as well, though once she was old enough they raised her on Elpis long-term due to their position as researchers there.
She remembers very little of her birthland itself, and has mixed feelings about Elpis for a number of reasons, most notably that it's where her parents died in a research accident and that after the incident there, her next-closest mother figure came back...very different.
I ultimately chose not to pick Amaurot or Elpis but I wanted to evoke that other places existed in the Unsundered World. While I wouldn't ever say it's a 1-to-1 entirely, I think of the island where Euphemia was born as being very much like the Caribbean, most prominently Jamaica.

Helena: Bozja, though she never lived in the capital and was raised in a clan roaming the countryside that largely escaped the Bozja Incident unscathed. She loves Bozja deeply, so much so that she risked her life twice fighting in the resistance to free it from Garlean occupation.
I chose Bozja mostly because it felt the most appropriate place for Helena to come from, and it was the place we had the most insight into.

Zardaar: The alternate Draenor of Warlords of Draenor in World of Warcraft.
She misses her home dearly and *has* good memories of it, but at the same time knows that Yrel's fascist turn has nearly entirely ruined her good memories of it.
Initially, I thought about having Zardaar come from a "lost" ship from the main universe's exodus from Draenor, but after asking friends for help since I'm not deeply into WoW lore, I decided alternate Draenor would be more fitting.

#LadiesOfLightLore All of the characters listed here are polyamorous even if they're in a monogamously-facing relationship.
Mirita: Nope. She has relationships with Khorijin and another player's character, and a Thing with another player's character.
If the right person came along she wouldn't be averse, but she's not actively looking.

Khorijin: Also nope. She has Mirita, and at least right now that's enough for her. Someone would have to work really hard at getting her to notice them.

Rija: She has situationships with several NPC characters, and arrangements with a few other people's characters, but otherwise isn't actively looking, either. Being somewhere in the cloud of demiromantic/aromantic does that to a Viera.

Khoride: She has enough partners on hand that she is satisfied with (all other players' characters), and while casual sex or other arrangements are not off the table, she's not looking for anything romantic right now.

Ystride: For right now, no. They have two partners as-is alongside a rather close friend or few. While she has drawn an eye or two, nothing's really come of those at least in the long term.

Euphemia: She's married and is currently not looking for anyone else, but is not averse to it if the right person presents their case. But good luck.

Helena: Minus being married (she's not, she has a girlfriend), her situation is basically the same as Euphemia's right now.

Zardaar: She's not really looking, given that she's both slowly adjusting to being sucked into the Ladies' larger found family group (Euphemia's fault) and is trying to actually build an understanding of "what is platonic friendship even" after spending a long time uninvested in romantic relationships and having all of her platonic and familial ones eroded thanks to the Lightborn.
