I wore my hair down today, curls undefined, hair extra poofy, and a student asked me what happened to my hair. “It got big!” I said. Student responded “a bomb exploded in ms Karen’s hair!” And that is how this student became my favorite (at least for today)

I introduced my 10 year old to MASH today, and kid promptly declared Hawkeye the favorite. Innuendo? Doesn’t get it. Reminds me of my childhood watching MASH with Dad after the 10 o’clock news. Now to get this kid back into Star Trek 😆

Had a work training for Title IX and our state recognizes gender identity as protected. I was sitting next to my coworker and told them “pronouns are life, yo!” I am always using pronouns. It’d be really weird not to. In fact, I used eight in this post. 😏 I think. Math is not my fav.

I don’t know why it took me this long to start meeting with a dietitian who has a healthy philosophy of food (like food is fuel, can be fun, and should never be a punishment), but man, it’s fantastic. Today I mentioned my blood sugar did not love my yogurt in the am and assumed it was the yogurt…

I hate that I have to tell my kid there are safe adults and not safe adults when it comes to Pride, but also proud that my kid views me and @thebmatt.bsky.social as safe adults. The whole family wants Pride to be a nonissue, but here we are, still fighting for equality for all

I have an insulin pump and lately I’ve been wearing it on my arm. Do you know how much joy a kid’s curiosity brings me? They ask me about it. Will they have to have one? What does it do? Does it hurt? What sticker am I going to put on it? Curiosity is helpful. It keeps the questions going 😊

The fact I can feed myself for $1.50 at Costco slaps, especially now that I like Diet Coke 🤣 the fact that Tokyo Joe’s got rid of Stevi-Yaki and the people working were a little to smiley telling me that sucks. I loved getting a Stevi-yaki bowl because there wasn’t added sugar.
