Special shout-out for the wings, the claws and the close attention to the dentition in the jaws; feels "honest" & real - true to life. The branch/horns come off well, too. 👍👍👍

..the following year, after the rains have come, a seed will sprout from the pile of ash & bone, & in due time the King of the Forest will return to its throne” A very captivating work with many influences that it highlights to best effect. Evocative, dynamic, classical but fresh. Excellent work!

“When the time is right & the storm reaches its zenith, the creature climbs to the top of the highest tree in the forest & spreads its wings. When the inevitable bolt of lightning strikes, its flammable belly explodes; the dragon self-immolates in a blazing pyre. But! -

"Iron Lung" Surprisingly solid and brilliantly executed. Definitely worthy of a theatrical presentation if you can catch it there. Mark's come a long way since his early days and hit this one out of the park. As the lady says, "This sparks joy."

The NFL has a rep for not paying the talent they 'hire' for halftime shows. I guess the idea is "we're paying you with EXPOSURE", which is something i know many artists love. But if a singer is doing the job for free, what about the sets? Costumes? Does the NFL cover those or is it on the artist?

The ultra-light handling of the J6 insurrectionists & their enablers proofs the truth of the statement. The gov's weak response didn't move the line in terms of what was permissible under a flag of "politics", it only revealed how accommodating the System was all along - like the Epstein files.

I was just making the point that you're sounding an alarm about a cliff up ahead when we've already fallen off. Fundamentally, you can't play democratic games with fascism. Autocracy doesn't share power and it certainly doesn't follow anyone's rules but its own. The way to win is not to lose.

The Regime has long had Springfield in their gunsights. A lower court blocked them but the Regime will appeal, and in any case, Brownshirts don't listen to the courts or follow the law. They make their own version of the law and Springfield is a plum they've been dying to pick.

So ICE has declared a retreat from Minneapolis. But like the man once said, "We're not retreating, we're just attacking in a different direction." My fear is that the Proudboys are being redeployed to depopulate Springfield, Ohio- they of "Cats&Dogs" fame. 25% of residents are 100% legal Haitians.

It's always blown my mind that a painting of people being happy, free, and well-fed was intended as a depiction of evil and sin. ... and that the owl, of all things, symbolized that sin & stares at "us" in a knowing, silent admonition. Never would've guessed Old Europe saw owls that way.

A very Goth death, wearing an Ankh for the irony, i guess. From the Sandman comics? I seem to remember "her" from the 90's. Something about "when the end of the Universe comes i'll be the one to put the chairs on the tables & turn off the lights" or such. A gentle take on mortal doom.

If you love that delay / distraction technique, then you should love the scene in Carpenter’s “The Fog” where they’re investigating the abandoned boat & something unexpected happens, almost exactly like this in the Thing ... If you know the movie you KNOW that scene! Carpenter at his best.

Probably a combination of selective polishing, shading, and careful contouring to create an optical illusion of transparency to trick the mind into 'assuming' that which isn't there. Like with the stone "veils" other people posted. They're just thin lines to imply cloth; your mind assumes the rest.

I mean, your average daily driver / commuter might legit be able to go 3, 4, even 6 months without ever having to hook into a public station for a DC-charge & having to deal with the "inconvenience" of a 20-minute wait. In that context, refueling in public almost becomes ... an alien experience. 🛸

100

The Jester Crow @thejestercrow.bsky.social · 28/01/2026

Personally, i think the industry has done a crap job of educating the general public on the real pros & cons, relying on early adopter fever to drive sales- ie, people who do all the heavy legwork to self-educate solo. If their Marketing Depts had any brains they’d tackle the miscons head-on. 4/

100

The Jester Crow @thejestercrow.bsky.social · 28/01/2026

Certainly, it is different. You gotta learn a little different & plan a little different. You gotta THINK a little different. And yeah, it can be a little intimidating, especially at the start. But once you get over that learning curve it’s not nearly as restrictive as a person might fear. 3/

100

The Jester Crow @thejestercrow.bsky.social · 28/01/2026

3rd, you typically only need to recharge “on-the-go” if you’re traveling long distances, & if you do that on the regular then a hybrid is a great way to go, but- 4th, you can charge at home. Depending on your setup that’s 3-9 hours. That can support a daily commute of 180 miles for, like, $6. 2/

100

The Jester Crow @thejestercrow.bsky.social · 28/01/2026

Well ... it doesn’t really matter if you can refuel in 20 seconds or 20 minutes if the car’s $60K & your budget is a hopeful $30-35K. 2nd, charging at a DC station only takes 10-20 minutes, which sounds longer than it is – especially in the age of the smart phone (scroll, scroll, scroll...) 1/
