izzybell @theizzyshow2000.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Crunchyroll I think uses the previous Japanese Blu-Ray master (which is the left side in the 4K comparison). Would highly recommend seeking out a copy of the Discotek Blu-Ray as it is the definitive release. the 4K looks degrained to hell and back. 110
izzybell @theizzyshow2000.bsky.social · 30/09/2026if you don't mind me asking, what sync issue? The Discotek US Blu-Ray is great all around and I don't recall any such sync issue during my watch. 100

izzybell @theizzyshow2000.bsky.social · 13/05/2026To my knowledge this is also the first time the mono fold-down has been available online in any form. The entrance, intermission, and exit music are all retained which is a bit strange as most general release prints wouldn't have them. I suspect this is a special engagement print. 140
izzybell @theizzyshow2000.bsky.social · 13/05/2026print itself (like most original prints of 2001) was very red-faded and as a result skin tones have suffered the most and are really garish and grey. However the stylized lighting scenes have been preserved pretty well. 150
