It’s not about different tones, it’s that they’re not directly contrasting tones. A barbie movie right next to a hyperserious films abut bombs and stuff will never not be funny for its contrast, Dune 3 and Avengers 5 together don’t create that, any novelty from that is just “wow 2 cakes!”
