Overall feel - good pick if you have nothing else around, but if you already own or can buy stuff like Army Painter Fanatic, ProAcryl or AK 3rd gen they are completely skippable

000

Hungry Arts @thehungryarts.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

and only 3 had less than 2 damaged - still workable, but left a bad taste, they are definitely not a great pick for airbrush - work fine, just way more stuff on the market that does it easier, faster, cheaper

Hungry Arts @thehungryarts.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

The bad - it's still GW paint, price bad, pot bad (replacing pots is time and money spent, which only increases the pricepoint from a fair viewpoint) out of 10 sample boxes we had around, only one came without a damaged paint

100

Hungry Arts @thehungryarts.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

The good- they are nice to use out the pot, they are very nice for drybrushing and shockingly good at edge highlighting, white is brought to the level of other quality paints. It is by no means a great white, just on the level, still lightyears ahead of the chalky nightmare that are other GW whites

100

Hungry Arts @thehungryarts.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

straight upgrade over any GW paints, still overpriced as GW products tend to be, but if GW is the only thing you have around, they are a better pick than their normal range by a mile and it would not surprise me at all if they started to slowly replace the old one with these.

Spent some time with a buddy of mine who owns a big FLGS and tested out the new paints. In general, they are pretty much what I was expecting (more in comment) #miniatures #miniaturepainting #paintingminiatures #painting #wargaming #miniaturepainting #warhammer #tonepro #warhammertonepro

Sorry for not posting anything - close to being done with bigger commissions for the year, found some time to stick in some rat painting for my own in-between jobs. Love the refreshed Skaven range. #Skaven #WIP #Warhammer #ageofsigmar #miniatures #miniaturepainting #paintingminiatures #wargaming

Heard the term "Male Astrology Gals" - you pick your Male Type (Sign) that has specific meaning and characteristics that are also very permutable and when you do something stupid you just scream "THAT'S JUST ALPHA" like a Astrogal saying "IT'S BECAUSE I AM A CALZONE AND SATURN IS UP"

Highborn Avatara from @parabellumgames.bsky.social I wanted her to both be a bit disturbing, to have her give off an uncanny organic, insectoid feeling and be a spin on a classic Howling Banshee scheme. #MiniaturePainting #ColorsofConquest #spires #ConquestTlaok

I love how they are both extremely generic and clearly stealing from many well-known IPs.

Cities of Sigmar, a second part of a larger army comission. Was unable to take decent photos of the Cities of Ash part of it, but was able to snag these plastic dudes despite the heatwave. #ageofsigmar #citiesofsigmar #warhammer #paintingminiatures #minipainting

Been super busy lately with commissions but I am still alive. Here is a small smapler of what I've been working on. Will post some stuff later in the year as I sort out what I can show. :) #miniaturepainting #paintingminiatures #ageofsigmar #warhammer

Preach, brother. I won't return to a 3-d printing service if they sell me uncleaned models, as even singular dudes selling minis from their basement work at it, so getting something like that in a box would immediately make an actual company go on my shit list.

Hungry Arts @thehungryarts.bsky.social · 18/06/2026

Oh, and of course "I don't have time for your facts", I used it so much, most often translated to Polish (Nie mam czasu na twoje fakty) it just got ingrained into my familiy's vocabulary and I kinda forgot the origins. XD

Hungry Arts @thehungryarts.bsky.social · 18/06/2026

"I would rather fuck a cactus" "Since I'm not a twelve year old girl or a pedophile, I have no idea what this is" Not a direct quote, I did learn from your comic that "Riveting" is a perfect reply to something utterly dull. Hell, I think I learned most english via Penny Arcade in my childhood.

Since the Pope issued an encyclical about AI you can now cite religious concerns if a workplace is trying to force you to use it. Use that information as you will

I think they will release a product that is around 2/3 of standards the competition offers at double the price. :D

Speaking of old, check out the artifacts I snagged last week, arrived still sealed. Happy to have them just sit around, I was a broke kid 20 years ago and could not afford them, nice to be able to move the illict miniature painting commission cash there.

Dweghom Hellbringer Drake from @parabellumgames.bsky.social , a commission for a client, painted to a Tabletop standard. Pretty fun tackling something this big in around 8-10 hours, instead of 30+ when the job is more complex. #ColorsofConquest #MiniaturePainting #tlaok #paintingminiatures

PA nostalgia has hit me super hard when I saw this artifact when scrounging for spring deals in online board game stores. Hope it's not an inventory error and I get it in mint condition as I missed it as a broke kid 20 years ago, but the photo seems recent so fingers crossed!

*sigh* If your Kickstarter video/image is AI, I won't back it. If your book has an AI cover, I won't read it. If you're a public supporter of AI use for creative work, I will unfollow you. I cannot stress enough how offensive I find AI use in the arts. It is outright theft, it is lazy, it is gross.

Got this Archon as a birthday present few months ago - I went for a color scheme I had in mind when first starting my Dark Eldar, many, many years ago, but lacked the skills to pull it off properly. Happy with the result! #miniaturepainting #warhammer #drukhari #darkeldar

It is kinda baffling and kinda sad that we reached the level of desensitization that such gross arrogance and disregard from a member of the arts towards the arts is "not something serious" but to be fair a confirmed pedophile ring supporter president did drop the bar to an abyssmal level...

To be fair to the director, at least they hired a scumbag to play the role, so there is some attempt at negativity there. :D But yeah, I too am afraid they seem to be heading towards "maybe RELIGOUS UNIVERSAL WAR not so bad" waffle

I think it is because of the many YT tutorials with their secret magic fix take on them as the secret solution for many a painter's ache when they are simply techniques and tools that you too need to learn to use well, so when people don't instantly make progress, they feel cheated and grow hostile
