Playing Esoteric Ebb and I've got to say using a Disco Elysium style dialogue system is such a double edged sword. Seeing it automatically makes me feel well disposed towards a game because then hopefully put a lot of effort into the dialogue, but I also now instantly expect it to be on DE's level.

The Jacob Geller thing really does underscore the importance of why getting parasocially attached to a creator is just not a good idea. I've been guilty of it many times in the past but these days I do try to keep in the headspace of being ready to drop any artist I follow if a revelation comes out.

I've never felt as autistic as I did getting feedback on several fiction projects in a row along the lines of 'yeah it was good but I didn't really get much of a sense for the main characters emotional state, at times they seemed more like an observer than a participant'
