It's staggering the amount of people I'm seeing who fundamentally did not understand the Lanterns finale and are complaining they didn't get a fucking suit or a CGI wankfest because that's what they've been conditioned to get after a decade of watching the MCU.

I'm quite selective about what single issues I'm getting these days, but all of them are DC books. Marvel's paper stock is atrocious and quite frankly a joke for the money they are now going to be charging.

into the various runs and creators who were left to do what they wanted to do with seemingly no oversight. The one thing I do agree is that everything has either an end or a jumping off point. I didn't foresee USM going as long as Bendis's run did, but I'd hoped for a little more than the 24 issues

the line without it's lead voice. Again, I think Cates has said that what we got from all the creatives concerned wasn't what he intended to do. So the disconnect between the titles I'd lay mostly at Marvel editorials door, who had no clear plan for the Ultimate Universe 2.0 until they were deep

Again, I wholly disagree. It's pretty much widely acknowledged that the new Ultimate line was Donny Cates baby. When Cates was unavailable, Marvel asked Zdarsky to do it then Hickman when he passed. So for me, the powers that be at Marvel shoulder most of the blame for insisting on charging on with

...on a Spider-Man book free from the creative handcuffs that the main title suffers from. That character in particular is crying out for fresh ideas and fresh, new voices to tell them. I'd rather see Marvel take big swings again than continually play it safe.

Hickman doesn't strike me as the type of guy to throw others under the bus, maybe I'm wrong. As for the diminishing returns defence, I don't subscribe to that idea whatsoever. Hickman & Checchetto are a draw, but you can't tell me that there's no other big name creatives that can't or won't take...

#Lanterns season finale stuck the landing and rounded off a season of one of the best comic book based shows I've seen for a while. The only negative I have is the long wait till season 2.

Could be. I'm just happy to see Redondo back doing interiors again. After Nightwing and the odd Superman or Wonder Woman issue, I honestly felt he was going to be like Gleason in that you'd see him mostly doing covers. Nothing wrong with that btw, just glad he's back doing an ongoing/mini series.

That creative team, especially Redondo, has me onboard regardless of what it is. Though I am enjoying that time period that they're letting Waid play around in for World's Finest, WF Teen Titans and Batman & Robin Year One. It's interesting that they're not getting him to do it actually.

No, I think he was on a podcast saying that he was happy to set the table for the Ultimate Universe but then leave it for other creators to carry it on. From his comments here, it sounds like he wouldn't have done it to begin with if he'd known they were going to pull the plug early.

It's definitely possible. Think a few of those characters have already popped up in Worlds Finest. I'm assuming this is a Silver Age thing and not modern based on the Redondo art. A modern Outsiders book might be interesting though.

Episode 7 of #Lanterns was, again, fantastic. I do think that some people need to brace themselves for Hal Jordan not coming back at the end of this show. Also think it's clear who killed Hal now, and I don't think that's gonna sit well with others either.

When ASM was good, Spider-Man was always the thing that impacted Peter's civilian life, his job, love life, family life. Now, those people have either got superpowers or have become a supervillain themselves & that is one of the books biggest problems in my opinion.
