How did I first get into leatherworking? Well, I attended a birthday party, got ripping drunk, won a game of Apples to Apples, passed out, woke up in a bed 5 hours later, and drove an hour and a half north to take a leatherworking class. I suspect most of these steps are not necessary.

A larp tradition I like more than I should is that the point of a weapon should never touch the ground. This is largely a safety issue: you don't want grit or broken glass on the end of something that might hit somebody's face. But I prefer to think of it as a "treat the weapon like a person" thing

The first pass on a sword holder with a horseshoe crab on the outside. It is always a little weird doing a pattern from scratch and watching it become a real thing. Kettu has a huge workshop day planned for Friday. Hopefully there will be something fun to report after! #leatherworking #LARP

Still learning the little details of silkscreening. There definitely is a minimum line width. Sadly I have never lived in a place where cicadas are really prominent! I would love to go see some someday. I'm sure I would regret that decision just a few minutes in, but you know, life! #furry
