Imagine going to space for 8 days, and 8 months later, not only are you still up there, but you’re also BREAKING SPACEWALK RECORDS All I have to say is pop off queen 💁🏼‍♀️

Last week was an absolute whirlwind that started with seeing a spacecraft going to the Moon’s south pole and ended with getting engaged in Big Bend National Park (I was COMPLETELY surprised too🥹) I love my life I love my life I love my life 😭

for the next 10 minutes they told me all about how their 16 yo granddaughter is really into aerospace and wants to be an astronaut. They were so geeked out when I showed them some more pics of the other Moon tech I’ve worked on 🥹 I love what I do

Yesterday I hung out a Moon tech company and their next lunar lander. Today I noticed an older couple really excited about the Artemis exhibit at the Houston airport so I asked if they wanted to see a cool pic. I showed them the lander and then

I BOOPED A SPACECRAFT GOING TO THE MOON YESTERDAY!!!! Actually a rocket-powered drone that’s gonna help us look for water inside a permanently shadowed crater!!!! And I got to hang out in one of the potential next lunar landers for the astronauts!!!!

It’s the human experience imo. And idk why everyone just keeps thinking something will stick around forever. It never does. Even Bezos said once that he hopes Amazon doesn’t last forever so something better will come along. The problem here is I have to keep starting from scratch 😆

Camille Bergin @thegalacticgal.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

I’m just confused and trying to stay afloat with the ever-changing social media landscape, I’m not even gonna lie 😆 thanks for being here!

Camille Bergin @thegalacticgal.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

See I forgot to even update here that I went blonde again so don’t get confused when you don’t see a red head 😆 Anyways I will try my best to post here too bc honestly every social platform is fickle and not guaranteed to last forever (we seem to keep forgetting that)

Camille Bergin @thegalacticgal.bsky.social · 08/01/2025

Yes, I am over here too. Yes, I always forget to post here because 1) I have to admit I don’t understand how this model is viable long-term (bsky is not profitable yet) 2) my engagement is abysmal and as a full-time creator I have to prioritize So if you want to see me here, plz converse 💜💜

In the interview, she tells me about what an honor it was to meet Carl Sagan. This was that moment for me. And I’m so exited I get to share it with all of you!!💜

Arrival (2016) solidified it for me as a young college student studying aerospace engineering It's no secret that sci-fi has inspired a lot of the tech we have today, and the scientists and engineers building that tech I think that's so beautiful

Contact (1997) got me interested in space as a kid Interstellar (2014) hooked me again as a teen when I really needed someone to tell me I could actually have a career in space

But honestly the craziest part is that it likely didn't form by erosion, but rather the surface of Mars CRACKING apart billions of years ago

060

Camille Bergin @thegalacticgal.bsky.social · 12/12/2024

The Grand Canyon might seem large to us, but to a Martian it's actually really small (ok, that is if Martians existed) Valles Marineris is the largest canyon in the solar system. It would span the entire length of the US or from the northern tip of Norway down to Sicily

💸 INVESTMENT 1. Starfish Space, a satellite servicing company, raised $29M 2. Inversion Space, a company working on delivering cargo anywhere in the world in under 1 hour via space, raised $44M (I cover 2 more big ones in this video: youtu.be/Xq2h3VaGHb4?...)

🌎 SPACE FOR EARTH The hundreds of petabytes of data that NASA's fleet of Earth observation satellites collect is getting an AI copilot (literally called Earth Copilot!) thanks to a partnership with Microsoft. The goal is to help scientists, educators, and policymakers better use the data

NASA has been able to identify the root cause, reproduce the issue, and confirm there won't be any danger to the crew on Artemis II with a slightly altered reentry trajectory Artemis III is now scheduled for mid-2027 assuming Starship is ready for landing

041

Camille Bergin @thegalacticgal.bsky.social · 05/12/2024

Artemis II, the first crewed mission back to the Moon since 1972, has been delayed to April 2026, though this isn't a surprising development The delay is largely due to issues they found with the heat shield during the Artemis I uncrewed test flight back in late 2022 (see pics from NASA below).

Where are all my Contact fans? ✋🏻 I had the honor of interviewing Jill Tarter last week and I’m still in shock 🤯 She’s the inspiration for Ellie Arroway’s character, an incredible astronomer, and the founder of the SETI Institute — the only organization on Earth dedicated to finding life elsewhere 👽
