It was great finally meeting @sithtyminutes.blacksky.app and I was honored to be asked to on his podcast.

TheFlyingWriter @theflyingwriter.bsky.social · 01/03/2026

I look forward to hopefully being a regular on your podcast. It was a great time in Milwaukee working with you and hanging out to do the recording.

I haven’t played with it yet, but theory crafting with my son says it’s going to be strong… which means you’ll have a target on your head.

I’ll look at it on my flight and post when I land. You got the swudb link? DM it to me here.

C Palp/Rey is one of my favorite decks I own. You have a list on swudb I can see?

What are you playing and I’m happy to help optimize your Twin Suns deck.

That’s my mat. It’s absolutely phenomenal. Axel is a tremendous artist and person to work with. I only break out that playmat for special occasions. Support artists!

I’ll be judging at the Sector Qualifier in Portland. Looking forward to it. #SWU #StarWarsUnlimited

Okay, honest talk: The downside of Trilogy format is that when you go 0-2, it's not that your deck was bad, it's that TWO of your decks were bad. #StarWarsUnlimited

You know, kick the tires on it. See how it handles the corners and straights.

Yeah, something like top 5-7 meta share leaders can’t be played. Call it like “Jank League.”

HSF Porg is down 7 cents, but the HSF Curious Flock is up by that same amount. The Porgonomics are in balance. Oh and here's also some Legendary card tracking. Check out the latest pricing report on Porg Depot. porgdepot.com/2025/08/22/l... #SWU #StarWarsUnlimited #Porgonomics

This was fantastic to running into @krishek.bsky.social on Petranaki after laughing it up with @ajmavrik.bsky.social @keithulhucards.bsky.social @porgdepot.bsky.social and @nerdparker.com I don’t know if this deck will be great, but it feels a couple cards away from great casual deck #SWU

I dunno, according to @nerdparker.com that sideboard makes this deck weak lol

Different colors are for the weak. Mono color decks are for the strong.

Hey, everyone. Been gone for a bit. Summer was very busy but had a great time. I went to the SWU Championships in LV and met the crew for Porg Depot. Fantastic people, and they’ve given me an opportunity to write there. Thank you @porgdepot.bsky.social porgdepot.com/2025/08/21/t...

Twin Porgs... I mean Suns

Guest author Dan, aka The Flying Writer, gives us a crash course in Twin Suns along with a couple example decks leveraging Legends of the Force cards to get us off the ground.

TheFlyingWriter @theflyingwriter.bsky.social · 29/07/2025

That does suck. However, there’ll still be an open format like they had on Friday. Or…. You can join the Twin Suns community.

TheFlyingWriter @theflyingwriter.bsky.social · 24/06/2025

If you play them for free then they’ll stay in play until defeated.

#Predator Killer of Killers was amazing. I firmly believe Prey was as good as the original. I’m all in for Predator: Badlands. Also, I’ll be brewing decks for #SWU this week. One card I’m going to try and work into the deck is Force Throw. I think that card is a sleeper… 🤣 #StarWarsUnlimited

Ooof. Cad Bane could be so good if it wasn’t for the poor Sabine matchups.

TheFlyingWriter @theflyingwriter.bsky.social · 09/05/2025

I agree with all 3 of your lessons. I’ll add my lessons from my last session. 1. Late game Sentinel is a necessity in this format. 2. Politic and talk more. It adds to the fun. 3. Token generation is good.

TheFlyingWriter @theflyingwriter.bsky.social · 06/05/2025

Yeah, just be forewarned. I’m speculating the eternal format will be… spicy. I bet they’ll initially have no restrictions which will make it salt fest at first. I can’t wait. I won’t play, but I look forward to writing about it.

000

TheFlyingWriter @theflyingwriter.bsky.social · 06/05/2025

They aren’t going to rotate out until March 2026. Then they’ll go into the eternal format that hasn’t been named and will be legal in the Twin Suns format. It’s still relatively cheap as far as TCGs go.

TheFlyingWriter @theflyingwriter.bsky.social · 04/05/2025

Oh, I gotcha. I played MtG for 20 years and never heard that term. I’m looking forward to seeing the full set. FFG has done a good job so far imho

Weird. You’re the first person I’ve seen refer to it as “parasitic.” The old RPG used to have Force points. Wouldn’t exhausting your own unit be parasitic and exploitative of your own units?

When Jabba captured her. It was about oppression, power, subjugation, and humiliation of a princess/general. SA and rape isn’t about sex or lust. It’s about what Jabba was doing to Leia. The only time I appreciated her on a leash was when she choked Jabba to death. Thanks for reading. 14/14

What slowly builds an Empire or Rebellion. Andor is what Star Wars needs. It’s not just Luke and Darth Vader. It’s Empire and Rebellion. They both require the full spectrum of violence to exist. Last, SA has been a theme forever in Star Wars. I don’t think I ever thought Leia was sexy… 13/14

The viewer doesn’t appreciate subtleties. They’ve been conditioned through bad cop dramas that it’s only a couple of hours in a car during a stakeout to get the bad guy. Trust me. I know all too well that’s not true. Most people want funny droids and lasers. That’s fine but that’s not… 12/14

Dude shows up, is bequeathed massive Force powers in short time because of blood lineage, becomes a great pilot, and shoots torpedoes down a tube with vibes only. He’s then dubbed the hero ignoring all the hard work of everyone. It’s a whiny boy’s dream. Maybe Andor is “boring” but only if… 11/14

Given their due, then they are just a cardboard obstacle for the heroes to tromp through. Likewise, if there isn’t acknowledgment of the secrecy and violence of the Rebellion then the heroes just become flimsy tropes. That’s probably why I don’t like Luke in Ep IV… 10/14

I love the Empire, because when done right, it shows the gravity of the villains and scene the heroes are working against. Without humanizing the evil (newsflash: evil is a part of the human condition. Evil still has to eat and shit) then you cannot humanize the good. If the villains aren’t… 9/14

Minimal work is declared the hero. They want to ignore they had to off a financier because he got drunk, divorced, and became a liability. They just want to skip the gritty work of building a rebellion and reap the benefits of last minute work. 8/14

TheFlyingWriter @theflyingwriter.bsky.social · 29/04/2025

Likewise, the too gritty crowd don’t want to focus on the Rebellion probably had to sacrifice prisoners on the Death Star in order to have a whiny white kid that inherited incredible space wizard powers, and used them to bend torpedoes 90 degrees down a small shaft, and through… 7/14

Being altruistic. That type of power might do “good” acts but it’s for the wrong reasons. That type of power uses fear, intimidation, destruction, rape, grift, etc. I guess people would rather focus on a guy in all black armor and red laser sword… 6/14

Not think of TWO BILLION people being snuffed out when all you see is a blue orb exploding from a green laser. It seems many people like the Empire because they look cool or they represent power. Yes, their kit does look ominous and cool. But the power they wield doesn’t come from… 5/14

It’s an authoritarian regime. The Emperor uses the full spectrum of violence to achieve his goals. Mental. Emotional. Physical. Spiritual. Economic. Everything is on the table. Up until Andor S2e3, most of the intense violence happened in the white-space or at a macro level. It’s easy to… 4/14

They were one that said Andor was too gritty. My dude, you don’t get to have “something we can shape” WITHOUT “concerted and collective effort.” That usually requires the use of the spectrum of violence if you’re starting a rebellion. Which takes me to the Empire… 3/14
