We celebrated the Roomie's birthday on Sunday, courtesy of my Mom. She opened her Outlaws of Thunder Junction play booster box and was thrilled, plus had some decent Mexican food for dinner. Monday was her actual birthday, and we chilled at home playing games and sorting cards. She had fun.

Roommate Update - Mental Health, CPEP Had a call from her a little bit ago. No updates regarding her release yet. She sounds tired, and ready to come home. She said they just keep getting new patients, and the number of staff keeps dropping. It's not a bad Hospital, but SAD season is upon us.

Some days I have no energy to do anything other than survive the pain and fatigue that is my life. Others, I have baked homemade bread, made soup, done dishes, cleaned, run a series of stress tests on the computer, and planned out next steps in art before 06:00. Most of the time it's the former.

Working on the shadow gradient for the Lord of Skulls (Redux pt. 3) Prime black, dry brush white highlights on with a white dry brush, *wash* the figure with a non-oily/non-enamel *dark* tone wash, then dry brush white highlights back on the highest points with a flat dry brush angled on its side.

Just sat in on a Mythic Earth demo and had a lot of fun chatting about it. If you're into wargames and/or Inidgenous cultures, I highly recommend it. Mythic Americas is the beginning, but they're expanding outward and adding more cultures after this.

I guess this kinda works for progression images, at least? There are four total. This is part of what I've been working on recently. My family doesn't know my account here (for now), so I can share the progress of the Mother's Day project I'm working on. There's a Momma to go with this one.

One of the downsides of miniature painting is that sometimes parts of the model break when you're painting it. I use these as practice models if the pieces can't be adhered back the way they should be, or use the flaws for lore building, or use them for kitbashing/scenery.

My body is reminding me of why I don't spend all say standing/walking anymore. I'm just glad it was a cool day, and I hydrated a decent amount, or I'm sure my heart would have reminded me much sooner. My legs are swollen and ache, and my torso feels "thin" in the way blood pooling can cause.
