I always just say editor. “Have you edited anything I’ve read?” “Yes, but I can’t talk to you about it.” And the projects I can talk about make eyes glaze over (online traffic school curricula anyone?). I’m a blast at parties 😂. #FreelanceFriends

Q2: As an editor, naming style guides and specific types of nonfiction work goes a long way with my prospective clients. Last two referals remarked they were so happy to see I had journal experience, or APA experience, for example. #FreelanceFriends

It’s a beautiful old red maple. The storms took a portion of it down right against our windows. It is “rather unwell.” The amount of pruning necessary makes it and us susceptible to even more storm damage (something about balance/weight), so it has to be removed. #FreelanceFriends

I usually can’t. Client’s work = their intellectual property. I have a few who name me in the work and I can point to that, and many willing to serve as references or give written permission for their work to be on my CV. A quick sample edit or the right reference usually is key. #FreelanceFriends
