rip annie dillard

One of the things I know about writing is this: spend it all, shoot it, play it, lose it, all, right away, every time. Do not hoard what seems good for a later place in the book or for another book; give it, give it all, give it now. The impulse to save something good for a better place later is the signal to spend it now. Something more will arise for later, something better. These things fill from behind, from beneath, like well water. Similarly, the impulse to keep to yourself what you have learned is not only shameful, it is destructive. Anything you do not give freely and abundantly becomes lost to you. You open your safe and find ashes.

everyone needs to be more cringe right now. make more art badly. paint something you never intend to sell. write amazingly purple prose and flowery language into your stories. rally against the devaluation of art and the dumbing down of expression.

Dear readers, No I'm not dumbing down my writing or vocabulary to make things easier. Get some curiosity and a dictionary because I'm not changing my art for you. Thinking someone needs to do so is such utter Entitlement. Yours, a neurodivergent dyslexic who was in Special Ed in early School.

Western discourse around fanservice, ecchi, etc in anim—manga is so funny when you actually look up readership demographics. Sundome!! Milky Way and Hare-Kon are both way more popular with women than men, even though both are known for their ecchi elements. ”Seinen” & “ecchi” =/= preferred by men

Actually, "Sunday !! Milky Way" has overwhelmingly more female readers too lol
