And while I'm on that topic, Stephen A Smith's comments this past week about Lane's retirement are a big reason why I don't watch American sports media anymore. Youtubers and part-time writers on Substack put far more thought into their commentary and analysis than these guys

I don't think this is a good stat because it contrasts what United were doing under Carrick last season by constantly pushing the ball forward quicky to where it felt like we were always threatening the opposition goal and there is a real reluctance to do that this season for one reason or another

I actually don't remember anything past the middle of the 2nd-ish season or so but I think the main character becoming more unlikeable was actually intentional if I'm not mistaken. I need to do a nostalgia run and watch it back again

NFL Week 4 is done and dusted, and more than a few teams should be concerned. The Broncos lost a tough one, the Bills upset the Pat, the Bengals looked bad against the Jags but the 9ers and the Chiefs both being 4-0 lets me know this is going to be a tough season to watch. bsky.app/profile/thed...

A typically defensively sound performance by Pitso Mosimane's newly minted Bafana Bafana squad in this 1-0 win and I will say in terms of quality of opposition, this is our best win since before Broos took over. #SouthAfrica bsky.app/profile/thed...

Week 4 of the NFL has a bunch of promising games but for me it's this Eagles-Rams game. Eagles coming off a really bad loss to the Bears and I couldn't think of a worse time to play the 1-2 Rams. On the flipside, Sean McVay is 1-10 against the Eagles and Stafford is 0-3 against Vic Fangio

Usually, when a president wants to blackball a media outlet or journalist, they don't announce it to the world. Many American presidents have done this. In fact, Trump is among the few to fail at understanding it can't really done outright

I may sound like a conspiracy theorist but something about Bruno Fernandes not being a willing passer to teammates making runs during the World Cup with Portugal, just didn't sit right and I can't be the only one that sees this pattern at Manchester United

The Philadelphia Eagles are on the road week 2 to the Tennessee Titans, while the Minnesota Vikings look to get another division win against a Chicago Bears team that scored 58 last week but my game to watch if I had to pick, would be the Denver Broncos at home to the Jacksonville Jaguars

One last note, when you look at the backline of Lacroix, Colwill and Fofana, you have 3 defenders that do not like reading the game. Mind you, I didn't say they can't read the game but they would rather win 1-on-1 duels than to defend in a shape

000

TheDefense @thedefense.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

I know hindsight is 20/20 but look at that squad from striker through midfield and defenders, and you can see why Chelsea are in the trouble that they are in. It's not a well put together team and Emi is a good keeper but he can't bail the team out the way he could 3-4 years ago.

The Buffalo Bills play the Detroit Lions tonight on Thursday Night Football. It's been a tough opening to the season for the Bills but they are more than capable of taking care of this game at home. I'll take the Bills to win a high-scoring game 33-27.

Massive failure here and Manchester United have got to look ourselves and seriously question how we let that game get away from us. Something very wrong with how we're approaching these games. Massive disappointment for us. Worst derby loss in recent memory and they didn't have Guardiola

No question Bruno Fernandes has provoked Phil Foden and is very lucky no to have had his initial kick on Foden called by the ref or linesman, but the onus is on Phil Foden to keep his head. That said, Man United need to put them to the sword now and we haven't shown the right intent yet

There aren't too many week 1 games that are must-win but Monday Night Football between the Chiefs and Broncos is as close as you can get. Broncos need to prove they are indeed a different team with a healthy quarterback, and the Chiefs need to get back to dominating the AFC West. Very high stakes
