joie de vivre ------ #pyrography #ozarkobscuraart

a pyrography (woodburning) art piece on a round slice of maple wood complete with bark. it features a wolf running thru snow in a nighttime forest. the wolf's expression is one of happy exertion, huffing out foggy breath in the cold and kicking up snow behind their flying paws. behind them is a forest: evergreens and bare hardwood trees silhouetted against a dark sky with a huge, full moon obscured slightly by a couple of thin clouds. the sky, wolf's markings, and background are all done in different textures, and the entire piece has a warm hue.

another picture of the same piece, this one taken at an angle to show off the different textures burned into its surface.

The results are in, and hilariously, they were pretty much the same ratio the entire time. Extremely conclusively, the next big update will be to the Official Glyphs section of Glyphery!

Poll results that read: What gets the next big update at The Cyber Record?

The two options are shown. The winning option is Glyphery: Official Glyphs with 78.13% and 25 votes, with the other option, Atlas: Rage Across Google Maps, having 21.88% and 7 votes.

(reposting with alt text) Important information for artists & commissioners who use paypal

drowzistatic: IMPORTANT PAYPAL PSA FOR ARTISTS & CLIENTS Hey, please read this because a LOT of people don't know until it's already too late. PayPal actively scans payment notes, and accounts are getting flagged, limited, or permanently banned over certain keywords. When that happens, they can freeze your money for 180+ days. For clients / commissioners: DO NOT put these in the payment note: "Commission" "NSFW" PAYPAL IS STRICTLY AGAINTS ANY SORT NSFW CONTENT AS IT VIOLATES THEIR TOS.
"Tip" or "Donation" (if you're paying for a service) AS MUCH AS US ARTIST APPRECIATES OUR CLIENTS SUPPORT, PLEASE NEVER SPECIFY A TIP.
PayPal uses bots / Al that look for these words (especially anything tied to adult content) to enforce their AUP. (Acceptable use policy)
For artists: • ALWAYS use vague, SFW descriptions "Digital Illustration" "Artwork Services" "Creative Services"

Really frazzled and behind on doing things with everything going on, but here's another #WerewolfTheApocalypse glyph commission for @qu33n-of-lies.bsky.social I finished recently!

A Garou glyph, black shapes set on a grey background. Beneath the glyph is its label "Spits-at-Luna" in teal text, with the glyphs used in its composition listed in black text below that. They read:

'Luna' + 'Honor' struck through with `Rage`

CW pet health Got the estimates. Top is staging before surgery, bottom is the surgery itself. $3,510.77 on the low end to $4,225.43 on the high end. Gonna be spending the next while figuring out what to do as fast as possible bc the longer it takes, the higher likelihood the cancer spreads

Cost estimates for the life-saving surgery my cat needs

Waiting for lunchtime to be over so I can call back the vet to get an update about the cytology slides. The tone when they said "so we need to discuss" the results in the voicemail was not very reassuring that it's better news, so I'm using the time to try to mentally brace and hoping I misread (:

Normally I try to provide that additional info in text or alt text with the glyph, but I think having it right in the gif would be cool too!

The Cyber Record @thecyberrecord.net · 10/09/2026

'Resilient' is a combination of 'Wolf' (which is also the default of indication a person, btw!) and a 'Stone' emphatic (per 'Stone' and 'Mountain'), and so that's the part conveying the idea of toughness!

100

The Cyber Record @thecyberrecord.net · 10/09/2026

I think I also want to make room for more explanation in these beyond just showing the source glyphs used, bc showing that I used that one little shape in 'Resilient' isn't really obvious *why* I used just that one and not the whole thing and people who don't know miss out on the tidbit that

If I can make a kind of template with all the settings dialed in and then just swap out the frames, that would be so handy and streamline the process a lot

The Cyber Record @thecyberrecord.net · 10/09/2026

Procreate Dreams recently got added to the tablet I use, so once I learn how to work it I'm hoping it will make doing "translation" animations like this a lot easier, bc while I love them, it's a lot of back and forth with an external gif maker and I never remember the settings I used before anyway

Getting a head start as I have time and my wrists allow.

A tablet showing a page from a Werewolf the Apocalypse book that I'm beginning to extract the glyph stories from behind the text, tracing each one by hand as a vector. The picture is angled in a sort of "dinner and a show" way, with a TV in the blurry background where I'm half-watching my mate play a game between drawing lines and adjusting nodes.

Actually, here's a better post: I've been getting together my "roadmaps" for both updates, and I'm curious what specific things folks might want to see for either the Official Glyphs section or the Atlas in future updates that I may be able to incorporate into my to-do list or consider for when I
