Bizarrely the new Circuit Breaker Blu-ray release uses the US broadcast version of The Impossible Astronaut and Day of the Moon, which includes an additional recap sequence just before the titles with a voiceover from Amy Pond recapping the events of Series 5.

Picked up the Blu-ray German release of The Next Doctor. This includes a 5.1 English mix which has fixed the errors present on the UK S1-4 set, containing missing dialogue. It plays at the correct speed as well.

Just WOW! The thing that really shines through in these episodes is the Direction of Douglas Camfield. Every shot is crafted so meticulously. These feel like era defining episodes. Adrienne Hill gets to shine properly. Thank you @filmisfabulous.bsky.social

Quick iPlayer tip. If you want save time finding the episode tomorrow, watch the end of Galaxy 4: The Exploding Planet (animated) until the play next episode button appears and then exit. The next episode currently in the system is Day of Armageddon, but that should change…

I can’t believe anyone at BBC Studios thinks this is acceptable

Thinking about how to the release The Daleks' Master Plan physically, I like the ideas a few people had of splitting the release in two and only animating the missing episodes. This is how I think a release like that could look.

In 1981 Doctor Who Magazine published the first comprehensive inventory of the BBC's archive, listing which Doctor Who episodes existed and were missing. 45 years on, 41 episodes have been returned to the archives. Here's a recreation of that list followed by how it stands in 2026.

Judging by disc count, I believe the Steelbook version of The TV Movie is the only 4K release that includes the Blu-ray version of the film. The standard 4K release is only 2 discs as opposed to 3.

Here is your handy list of the extras on Doctor Who The Collection Season 13 that have been removed from this set and extras that have moved to this season. For the full list of new extras, please go and buy the latest issue of DWM.

• Doctor Who Stories: Elisabeth Sladen – Moved to The Hand of Fear on Season 14

Pyramids of Mars
• Serial Thrillers – Moved to The Robots of Death on Season 14

• Howard Da Silva Intro (Region 1 only) – Unlikely to be included elsewhere

The Android Invasion

Moved to Season 13

The Android Invasion
• Directing Who: Barry Letts – Moved from Planet of the Spiders

The Brain of Morbius

Duplicated onto Season 13

Terror of the Zygons
• Doctor Who Stories: Tom Baker – Also included on Logopolis on Season 18
Note – Zygons was the original DVD placement of this extra. The trend tends to be

The Android Invasion
