They were nice enough to even provide the formulas 🥰
Syltebo said they used two types of paint on the street - Sherwin-Williams Forte and Sherwin-Williams Pro-Park.
Both are acrylic. Neither advertises itself as temporary.
Forte, which includes urethane for extra strength, bills itself as for both interior and exterior surfaces offering "exceptional adhesion, outstanding durability, and resistance to corrosion."
Pro-Park is specifically designed for pavement and parking lots. It comes in only five colors - white, yellow, blue, "firelane red" and black.

The rules don’t apply to them if the rules aren’t applied to them. Article is WSJ “Morgan Stanley Bankers Were Pressured to Approve Mortgages for Wealthy Clients” by AnnaMaria Andriotis
Inside Morgan Stanley's private bank for the ultrawealthy over the past year, an employee in the mortgage-lending department tried to question how a client kept applying for new home loans claiming he would be living in the residences.
The client had already received several owner-occupied loans in just a few years, and the banker was objecting to a new one, people familiar with the matter said. Those mortgages often come with lower interest rates and require smaller down payments for the borrower than second homes or investment properties would, and seeking the wrong type of loan can be considered fraud.
"This is getting ridiculous," the banker said.
His mortgage colleagues told him to drop his concerns, the people said. They didn't want to deal with pushback from a financial adviser who managed the client's wealth assets.

I would be waaaay too stressed by this movie, but can confirm that some cats will deal with a leash if it means they get to go outside. Do they *like* their harnesses? No. Do they come running when they hear them because they’re so excited to go out? Yes.

Hey @council.seattle.gov, why is SeaFair allowed to turn Rainier playfield into a parking lot? Who thinks that parking hundreds of vehicles on dry grass is a good idea? Does any of the $50/vehicle/day charge go to Seattle Parks? Why invite the Blue Angels to buzz neighborhoods? (2025 pic)

wisest choice. Tech leaders are starting to question whether sidelining human labor in favor of Al investments was such a good idea after all.
For one, researchers are finding that many of these investments are simply. not paying off, leaving leadership to hold the bag. An oft-cited MIT report from last year found that a staggering 95 percent of Al pilot programs at companies are failing and delivering little to no measurable impact on protits.
Then there are the soaring costs of actually replacing human staffers with Al, with employers racking up enormous Al coding usage fees and leading some to wonder whether employing workers was actually cheaper.
In short, the line of thinking that Al will eventually replace workers and bring down costs is being seriously challenged by reality

Ahhhh congrats!!! I am now very team harness+backpack. I think backpacks are easier on the body than traditional carriers & smaller than a stroller, but if you let them hang out, it’s a core/shoulder workout. The cats nap in it all the time, and it’s become their go-to safe place when we’ve moved.

Did an LLM do this “logic”? All of this is extremely consistent with the “more Ai, more senior, no entry level” pattern in this field (in-office or not!!), and comparing employment rates with nursing?!?
The study, by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, compared occupations that can be done remotely — such as software development — with those that are done in person, such as nursing. The study finds that the unemployment rate among young college graduates in
"remotable" jobs rose by about 1 percentage point from 2017-2019 to 2022-2024.Yet for older workers in those fields - those aged 29 and over - the jobless rate declined slightly, leading to a notably higher unemployment rate for younger college graduates in remotable occupations compared with older workers.
Yet in non-remotable jobs, there has been little gap in the unemployment rates between older and younger college grads, the study finds. A similar pattern exists for those without college degrees, the New York Fed said.

Nope, definitely accessibility killing employment rates because there’s no way jobs that can be done remotely are more susceptible to CEOs thinking they can be done by Ai or anything like that 🙄

Oh but don’t worry, they throw in some classic “this hurts men” by suggesting that women are overwhelmingly getting the “new” jobs… no mention of who was overwhelmingly laid off or the net differences of course.
The broader shift toward a service-based economy has also hurt men, economists say. Between January 2025 and March 2026, the U.S. economy created 369,000 jobs - of which 94 percent went to women and 6 percent went to men, an analysis of Bureau of Labor Statistics data by the University of Michigan's Stevenson shows. That's partly because new jobs added to the U.S. economy during that period were in health care or private education. Men often shy away from jobs in those industries because of their lower pay and status, economists say.

Holy shit— WaPo actually said it. Illness/disability is the main reason why working age men 25-54 aren’t working…
Among prime-age men out of the workforce, illness and disability are the leading reason
Reasons given by men 25-54 not in the workforce from 1990 to 2025.
“Ill or disabled” is the largest cohort, over 50% in 1995 down to a little over 40% by 2025.
“Retired” has grown from maybe 8% to about little over 10%.
“In school” is fairly consistent, maybe 10-11%.
“Caretaking” has risen from about 10% to closer to 20%.

So first we get to this one for men/boys 16-24, and I immediately check out that bump at the bottom in illness/disability. Not the biggest % but that’s a meaningful bump!
For young men, school is the biggest reason for not working.
A graph showing the share of 16-24 year old men not in the workforce, by reason from 1996 to 2026.
Retirement is basically zero.
Ill or disabled is less than 10% of the total but increases by about half over the time period, with a bump from 2011 to 2016 and then another bump in 2026.
In school is approximately 80% of the total and relatively consistent.
Caretaking fluctuates around a few percentage points.
Other reason is about half what it was in 1996.

Don’t worry, Queen Anne (different NIMBY neighborhood) made the same horrific argument in 1907! It’s probably going to apply for historic protected status any day now… (extra ableism ahead) www.seattlechildrens.org/about/history/
When the Children's Orthopedic Hospital Association's plans for Fresh Air House become known, several neighbors near the new site object that the presence of
"deformed children" will disturb their quiet surroundings and depress their property values. They argue that pregnant women in the neighborhood will suffer risks to their own unborn babies if they view crippled children.
The neighbors draft an ordinance that all children convalescing after surgery be sent to the "Pest House" on Seattle's Beacon Hill - an infirmary where the county sends citizens with contagious diseases such as diphtheria and tuberculosis.
Fortunately, the city engineer supports the association's mission and the trustees receive the needed building permits.

My dentist recommended this toothpaste to me for dry mouth and I was intrigued to see several reviews from autistic/ND folks saying that it was the only kind they’ll use, so I figured I’d share. I’m almost done with my first tube of the citrus flavor, and it’s nice! carifree.com/product/gel-...

They actually did it
I initially bought this bc of the other autistic people in the reviews saying it was good and I was not prepared for how right they were. With my sensory sensitivities, I always expect brushing to suck. Turns out it doesn't have to! I'm also very glad that this is available in flavors other than mint, since mint flavoring was part of the problem for me. So far I've tried and enjoyed the grape.

Syrn's designs are pretty basic-black lace over nude illusion, slightly thicker straps to help keep them from cutting into your skin, heart-shaped fasteners. There are a few items that might elicit an Oh, cute while shopping online, but there is no reinvention of the brassiere here. Measles can also cause “immune amnesia” — not good! [Article is from 2024] www.bbc.com/future/artic...
From BBC.
Enter "immune amnesia", a mysterious phenomenon that's been with us for millennia, though it was only discovered in 2012. Essentially, when you're infected with measles, your immune system abruptly forgets every pathogen it's ever encountered before - every cold, every bout of flu, every exposure to bacteria or viruses in the environment, every vaccination. The loss is near-total and permanent. Once the measles infection is over, current evidence suggests that your body has to re-learn what's good and what's bad almost from scratch.
