I didn't expect much from the Sox after the way they played for most of August and all of September, but I've got serious doubts about Chad Tracy. The lack of offense isn't on him, but yanking your top 2 pitchers early like that is a terrible move. Maybe it's inexperience at the big league level.

I'm just gonna say it. I think the Red Sox were too quick to give Tracy a contract. Should've let him prove he can manage in the postseason. Which, judging by this lifeless performance and mismanagement of his pitching staff, he can't. Should've shipped his ass back to Worcester.

Tolle/Sonny/Ranger is one hell of a 1-2-3 punch. Tolle's been your best pitcher all year and giving him the ball in your playoff opener is 110% the right call. If the offense gets him some run support (a tall task against Schlittler) then Game 1's theirs to lose.
