Hi @shydogs.bsky.social great question. I wrote a novel a few yrs ago which featured a crime, but wasn’t a crime novel. My agent sent it to 10 publishers and they all were positive (liked it, said I could write well etc) but they all said they didn’t know what genre it was. It didn’t get published.

Well I managed to work on my novel all day but it was a frustrating one. Was editing more than writing and had to comb through to make sure I’d been consistent with dates and character’s ages. My brain stated to go sideways by the end of it. Onwards and upwards! #writer #writingcommunity #fiction
