🌱. I can finally post to “thick trunk” Tuesday! I don’t know where to begin abt the Cotswolds adventure. But thank you, Joe Seals for suggesting we visit! It was everything I wanted to feel, know, see, touch, hear! More to come…

My fave hare sculpture—but the shop wouldn’t sell it!

One of my fave signs on the promenade in Cheltanham.

We have had the best time in the Cotswolds! I’m trying to think whether I should curate my posts or just blab it all with no theme! First—our home base:

Dumbleton Hall in Evesham. This pic includes the orangery.

🌱. Just saw my first allotment!!

Oh Jesus. I could’ve worn my Nashville clothes if I’d simply taken the time to lean the difference btwn celcius and Fahrenheit. Dammit. I have abt eleventy hundred hot weather things I could’ve worn. If considered hotel appropriate. Dammit. Off to go to find shorts

Holy cannoli! Everything is unpacked! It’s amazing!!

Okay, my friends!! We made it to London this morning and our room is ready. The hotel is beautiful! Live already begun my plant-parrazzi!

Plant-palazzi! I love this for my boxes! It seems like tiny boxwoods, geranium and ivy! Even a small petunia! I need this for my garden!

Wendy✨ @thearest.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

Uh dammit. I don’t think it’s supposed to sound like that, is it? Clearly, im not an hvac person but my neighbor’s unit is quiet. This sounds like it’s got something loose? Also, its only cooled to 77° since 5 pm.

🌱. The new “old landscaping co” actually removed the weed pile AND—an even better part—didn’t blow anything into my garden! I’m ecstatic! 🤩 also thinking how little it takes brighten my day!

No brush or leaves blown into what remains of this iteration of 2026 pollinator garden.

Wendy✨ @thearest.bsky.social · 27/08/2026

Mmm…good news is—the weed pile will be removed tomorrow and maybe the mow and blow won’t blow leaves into my garden space again. Also, their bid was $10k less than other companies. That will change.

Weed pile from 4 units in the HOA. This company has refused to remove for 3 weeks.

Then the other member of the “landscaping committee” goes on abt the oregano and rosemary planted by a resident is accidental. And needs to be removed. And this tree is a butterfly 🦋 tree and needs to go. And why are supposed to be hating on “butterfly bush” now? Feedback and advice welcome!!

This isn’t an overgrown butterfly bush, right?

Anyway—here are the boxes: I’d jump on this chance for free planters that were custom built.

🌱. It’s all I have for today! But proud bc this is the neighbor’s yard that I seeded with zinnia and grandpa ott morning glories! I’ll try to capture the morning glories tomorrow!

🌱. Holy cow!! One of my 3 Madeira figs lived!! I planted it last year and worried it wouldn’t survive!! I never would’ve realized it was there if I hadn’t started pulling the crispy zinnias! Should I mulch it? 😬. Oh lord!

🌱. “Round-Up Randy with the chainsaw” came today to cut the tulip poplar.Me: sad and mad. Mad bc he said he would’ve cut it if it was a fig tree. (And I thought, if it had been a fig tree, there might be stabbing people in the neck w/a trowel). But, to his credit, he did leave the flowers.

🌱. 10 second video of Goldfinches in the dahlias and sunflowers!

Wendy✨ @thearest.bsky.social · 12/08/2026

More goldfinch pics, my sweet husband took on his way out today!! (I love that he notices and loves the birds, butterflies and bees!🐝)

Goldfinches at the dahlias and sunflowers! 🌻.

4271

🌱. And now MY crop of “goldfinch at birdbath pic.” I often forget cropping is an option!

Goldfinch at birdbath. Cropped to better focus on bird!

Better pic (cropped) of the goldfinch—courtesy of my husband!

🌱. Also, admittedly not the best pic BUT!! Goldfinch at birdbath!! I’m so happy my garden attracts these beautiful assets!

🌱. I was gifted the opportunity to pick all the ripe figs from my awesome neighbor! This is what’s left after I’ve been “hitting the figs” everytime I pass the bowl!

Figs from kind and generous neighbor’s tree! Or what’s left of them, anyway. I’ve been eating non-stop!

2290

If you pull or push the little brown latch—it spits out a reasonable amt of M&M’s! My husband’s kids gave it to him for Xmas—I never realized how handy it would be!!

🌱. Happiest Saturday, yall! We’ve been away for 5 days and it’s amazing what the garden has done! I’m so thankful for the rain!! Here are a couple pics! Truly chaos!!

🌱. Happening here after the rains and my Sarah McLachlan-inspired afternoon. I love that the calla lilies keep showing up and the moonflowers showing out!

🌱. If that’s not a skull face!! 💀 I DO realize I might be gathering “seeds” too soon—-green parts. But, I had to share the skull! 🤭

🌱. Today, I noticed that a neighbor has a passion flower vine growing all over their azaleas! I’d love a passion flower vine! Can I proplift and plant here? (I know nothing abt passion flower)

🌱. The HOA says my tulip poplar has to go!! I hate that. 😔

Wendy✨ @thearest.bsky.social · 11/07/2026

🌱. Chaos garden! Next year, I’ll endeavor to plant more deliberately. But for now, it’s a lot of fun to see which seeds are working in this plot!

Wendy✨ @thearest.bsky.social · 07/07/2026

🌱. I knew better to leave my watering wand outdoors! But it’s only been a couple days! And now wrapped in moonflower vine or is it clematis?

4100

Wendy✨ @thearest.bsky.social · 06/07/2026

Before! And I transplanted daylilies if you see them!

Wendy✨ @thearest.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

🌱. I tried to get a good pic of the bumblebee enjoying zinnias and cosmos. It’s a bit blurry. But I’m happy to be feeding!!

🌱. This little sunflower from Kroger has really performed!! I wonder if it will be perennial?!

3180

Wendy✨ @thearest.bsky.social · 05/07/2026

🌱. The irascible neighbor’s space—where I planted zinnias (seed) and marigold (seed) and transplanted daylilies!! It was a mudhole before! Proud of this!

🌱. The first dahlia bloom!

Wendy✨ @thearest.bsky.social · 29/06/2026

My hair guy sent me this! He just acquired it and the church next door had questions. 🤦‍♀️. But I LOVE it!! 🥰

Serah and Babu (peeking out from under the saddle). I need this real bad for my lawn!

320

🌱. After cutting my DA rose blooms (love them in the house.). Other climbers on these trellises include moonflower and clematis. So far no blooms on the moonflower yet!

370

🌱. DA’s “Lady of Shalott!” I couldn’t love these climbing roses more!

1130

🌱. Clematis blooming in the moonflower/ nasturtium/ (failed sweet pea) pots! This is such a wonderful surprise bc I didn’t expect to see blooms until maybe next year!
