I was going to say “it’s ok I liked Interpol more than the strokes” 😂

I feel like the more Asha Sharma talks about Xbox, the less I understand what the future of Xbox is and the muddier her goals with the division are, other than cutting costs to improve margins

Well, I mean all RAV4s are now hybrid and that’s their best selling vehicle so it makes sense that they’d have such a percentage of electrified vehicles sales

If you can, I’m trying to cover a few expenses while my family is sick. I spent our car payment money on medicine and groceries. ko-fi.com/theanticitizen

I don’t feel good. At all. I’m fine physically but mentally I at an all time low. I don’t know. I don’t have anywhere else I feel comfortable saying this.

I'm up to episode 12 of The Return in my Twin Peaks retro review series for @popheist.com. This week, Audrey Horne returns as Frost and Lynch continue to peel back the red curtain on a sick, broke, violent country. (gift link!)

'Twin Peaks' 3x12 Recap: This Woman’s Work - Pop Heist

Twin Peaks is everywhere and everyone, not just one town and the weird people in it. There are weird people we haven’t met and never will.

Microsoft loves killing all of Xbox’s good will huh?

Ahhh well, I saw what chemo, cancer and facing death in the eyes can do to a person. My uncle who was living with us at the time and dying of cancer became very angry and lashed out at everyone. Of course nobody held it against him but there was a grain of that experience there

The trope I do like is when their loved one is bitten or turned and they can’t process it and can’t let go. Gets me every time because I think of the symbolism of terminal illness and also my own family

I have no interest in talking about horror movies on Bluesky lol

011

News drums up interest in Xbox, in their ecosystem and their pool of developers. That’s good for them and good for the industry. And by supporting a studio like KojiPro, it keeps them employed as well. Both realities can exist alongside each other. It’s not a black and white situation

000

But you’re talking about an established developer with an extremely positive track record and a legacy that extends back 30 plus years. It doesn’t undo the layoffs, but if we developers to keep their jobs at Xbox, we can’t be undermining every decision they make. A positive reaction to this

100

Again, I’m not going to try to convince anyone that Xbox management are all these saints trying to save video games, but I think it’s also good to recognize when they do something helpful to the industry as much as pointing when they harm it

100

And look, I’m not a fan of how Microsoft is handling Xbox, I think they layoffs are especially heinous and Asha is far too complicit with Satya’s bloodletting, but claiming they’re on this streak of cancelling games just isn’t true, or at least it hasn’t been true during her tenure.

Tango wasn’t closed. Weren’t the other two studios like a year or two ago? The studio gutting was awful for sure, but they aren’t cancelling any other announced projects. For as much awful that Microsoft has done to Xbox, there’s still alot of good stuff coming out of Xbox

I think Call of Duty should spin off two different games 1) a tactical shooter, Rainbow Six style game set in the modern warfare universe 2) a coop heist game set in the black ops universe/spies vs mercs in the blops universe

I would watch a Dead Space movie or tv series about the Ishimura finding the Marker and all hell breaking loose, ending where the game starts

Ahh ok. I don’t ever play anniversary on the updated graphics so I couldn’t remember

000

I thought Anniversary still had it? Either way, it’s a bummer because it just kind of feels like the final disconnect between Halo and Bungie

Well I really like that new mastodon song but I’m disappointed that the video uses GenAI. I doubt that was the band’s call. They probably just saw the video and signed off on it

It’s still like a circle in a circle but it’s definitely not the marathon logo anymore. Which like…that symbol is all throughout Halo. Weird to remove it

110

Ok, I found the one art change in Halo Campaign Evolved that actually pisses me off. They removed the Marathon logo from Guilty Spark’s eye, which feels like the final cutting off of the Bungie legacy to me

Backrooms was way more my style than Obsession. I think Obsession is the better movie but I like what Backrooms is doing more personally.

An absolutely unhinged thought entered my head in the shower: Apple should buy Polestar

000

For further context, my Xbox has had a lot of issues with video output, especially on that tv, so I initially thought my Xbox died but it was the tv. The display acted like either the hdmi port on my Xbox fried or the tv short circuited

010

I’m not sure. I was playing and suddenly the screen freaked out like something hit it and it went black and never turned back on. I never move it or put any stress on the tv so my initial thought was the series x constantly switching from game mode to tv mode caused it
