🚊With the @deepseek.bsky.social hype train slowing down -let's build a REALLY useful project with it: an agentic RAG-chatbot using its R1 reasoning model on-device. It's using @streamlit.bsky.social and @langchain.bsky.social to chat with our Markdown documents.😍 Full video in first comment.🧵

If you want to start a blog, stop thinking about it and just do it. Open a blog on WordPress and start writing. That's my first piece of advice to anyone. Don't waste time on the technicalities; just write. You can move your blog to another platform later. www.freecodecamp.org/news/technic...

🤯 I'm beyond excited that the recording for my talk about "Building Apple Intelligence on our own" from Do iOS is finally available. I went the extra mile with the editing, and I think it turned out incredible.😇 (let me know what you think 💭) youtu.be/szTgl3rLDqY

You're one of the best person. I recently interacted with on socials. There are lots of things to learn from you. We should collaborate in Q1 FY25 if it fits your audience well. Stream (getstream.io) + Aaron.

Your reputation is your most important asset on any platform—far more valuable than followers, clicks, or vanity metrics because trust and credibility are almost impossible to buy.

contract-to-hire is a win-win for both the company and the person. less friction and easy to manage taxes. I've been working as a contract-to-hire for the last 3 years and am fully remote.

A good developer will write code when new code is needed. Will avoid writing code when there can be existing code reused. And will delete the code when the code is not required.

I've tried all 3, but still, larger refactorings are tricky because all LLMs are limited in terms of how much information ("context") they can effectively "use" at any given time. I feel the grass is greener on the other side, so I am happy to stick with copilot for a bit longer.

I'd love to follow more software engineers (and folks working closely with devs: e.g. in product, design, data etc) My problem: it's hard to find these people! And many devs don't (yet) have details in their bios. If this is you, can you please add a reply and a short description of what you do?

hey @gergely.pragmaticengineer.com, good to see you here, and I would say when there's competition among companies, people win, and these days, I either chat with GPT or Claude. I think my googling habit is drastically decreasing.
