22) Lanterns S1 (2026) This is the best part of the DCU so far! The writing was excellent, the budget was used effectively and the show understood the episodic structure! I loved that it tried something new and genuinely had something to say about the big issues.

On combat: There's just too much on screen and that's something I struggle with. It keeps feeling like I just keep pressing the same buttons over and over again in a fight until the fight ends, without the joy of the variety in Control. That said, that variety comes later on in Control.

I should also say that I've tried to make it clear in the past that the combat in trailers will often put me off a game. That's not quite the case here, but it's close - it's just not my type of game and that's OK because I can still go back to the ranged firefights in Control.

Now further into Control Resonant. I have mixed feelings on this game so far. Having a great time with the main story, but feeling let down by combat. I spent too much time at the start of the game with side stuff and exploring the world, but they're the weaker parts of the game.

21) Clearview Poets of the Fall I'm sure I'll appreciate this more with future listens, but I expected more from the album preceding Ultraviolet as part of the same trilogy. Still, it's great to have Labyrinth, which would've been a Quantum Break track! I had no idea this released 10 years ago!

20) The Sunset Tree (20th Anniversary Remaster) The Mountain Goats My introduction to the band! This feels like it would be a good listen for a calm autumn day. The songs sound great and I like what they've done here, especially when it comes to the strings!

Sadly, another issue I have is that there's no zoom to read whiteboards in Control Resonant. I'm having to resort to leaning in too close to my monitor. There's a delayed automatic zoom, but it's not enough to make text accessible. Quantum Break, Control and AW2 dealt with this a lot better.

OK, I get why this would be helpful for some, but I really don't like the current HDR set-up screen and would prefer a standard set-up screen. There's too much to look at here and I'm just going to stick with 50 because that's the default rather than being confident that it should look better.

Going dark (as if I haven't done that before)! Not returning to my Writer's Room, but I'll be solitary in the Dark Place because that was such a good experience for Alan Wake 2. Nothing in the YouTube pipeline right now - if Control Resonant gets specific gears turning, that'll be a nice surprise!
