Listen I get triple damage is a pretty threatening but eight mana is a *lot* and that Convoke only helps so much with that.

The Magic the Gathering card City on Fire, a red enchantment for 5RRR. It has Convoke (meaning creatures can be tapped to pay for its casting cost) and "If a source you control would deal damage to a permanent or player, it deals triple that damage instead."

I'll be honest, I don't know the context of what Casey's talking about and my brain is too full of MtG cards so this just kinda happens.

'Cause there ain't that many in circulation and it's reeaaaaal good, especially in cEDH land where the tempo gain from resolving it can be game-winning on the spot. It's basically 80%-90% of the reason to play Rograkh from what I understand.
