Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 18/07/2026Took a break from coding and Calc II to visit the Georgia Museum of Art for a class project. Trying hard not to drown in assignments this week😂 #georgiamuseumofart #uga #athensga 010
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 03/07/2026Ok so maybe electron isn't that bad if I start with a template instead of building everything from scratch... My last project had me spending hours just trying to get a simple test app running. Progress 📈 000
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 01/07/2026I’ve been experimenting with new ways to learn coding through simple projects and AI. I noticed that if you can exercise enough restraint trying to code a function, then have AI check your code for errors, you end up retaining a lot. Tedious but helpful. 000
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 13/01/2026Quick progress update: - Cleaned up the menu layout - Further balanced the theme colors - Dimensions fields resize the canvas now Today was much lighter now that school has started up again. Might do progress updates like these more often. Keeps me motivated when days get tough 🔥 000
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 11/01/2026Exploring new menu layout ideas for a digital math scratch-sheet app. UI inspiration from @anwashsaleem on X. Which one feels clearer? 🤔 #uidesign #uxdesign #indiedev #ui #ux 160
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 06/01/2026This month’s project is a digital scratch sheet app for math. The goal is to make working through problems feel as natural as possible without paper (not easy haha) #indiedev #typescript #react 150
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 05/01/2026A couple months ago my barber cut my hair much lower than planned, so I’ve been rocking this look lately. It’s been lowkey growing on me 😂 000

Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 26/09/2025In my rhythm game, Rebirth, I’m introducing Double Tap Notes! Another new mechanic that shakes up the classic rhythm game style: Tap once to lock the note in place, and tap again when the judgment rectangle matches the note's size to score points! This one is definitely one of favs :P #gamedev 262

Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 13/09/2025I was told that this book will give me a comprehensive understanding of C++. Now I’m genuinely scared of what I’m about to witness 🗿 000
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 13/09/2025Just added a music player to the title screen! The game now picks a random track based on the maps it finds in the tracks folder. Thoughts? #Qt #Rhythmgame #UI 010
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 07/09/2025Doing a minimalistic map select menu for my experimental rhythm game How are we feeling about this one? #MadeWithQt #UI #UX #gamedev #rhythmgame 084
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 04/09/2025In my rhythm game, Rebirth, Forgotten Notes are a new twist on the rhythm game style. Avoid them at all costs to keep your combo alive❤️🔥 #MadeWithQt #IndieDev #gamedev 1114
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 27/08/2025Over the summer, I wanted to try something a little different: building a rhythm game with the Qt library. Instead of static charts, each map uses tokens that shift charting styles mid-play, creating unique maps you won’t find anywhere else! #gamedev #Qt #rhythmgame #indiegame 173
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 07/02/2025OK FINALLY I'm pretty much done with everything! I plan on posting the Trajectory line tutorial tomorrow, as soon as YouTube verifies my account. That way, I can post the GitHub link for y'all to mess around with the code as well. Sorry for the delay y'all. Life just be lifeing sometimes 😅 000
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 21/01/2025Just finished another, even more accurate trajectory line prototype in Godot 4.3! I'll be able to do a tutorial on how to make one in both versions now, which is exciting! I'm trying to get one out by the end of the month, so please stay tuned if you've been struggling with making these as well :) 000
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 28/12/2024After about 30hrs of work, I just finished a new move: a Trajectory-Based Wall-Jump! I finally got the endpoint to react to collisions without glitches, which I'm super happy about. I'm considering making a tutorial on this since there aren’t many on trajectory lines in Godot yet. #gamedev #Godot 1153
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 30/11/2024Continuing with the game dev grind! Today I finished the sprint and crouching controls, which run on a momentum script. It took some time to debug and make tweaking values as easy as possible, but I think I've finally come up with something I like 😄 #Godot #Gamedev #platformer 040
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 26/11/2024My friend and I decided that we wanna make a short platformer, and I'm in charge of the movement :) I think varying jump height is an awesome feature to have, which was surprisingly easy to implement: you change the max jump height depending on when the player stops pressing jump #Godot #Gamedev 130
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 23/11/2024A crazy thing I’ve noticed is that Qt layouts (like GridLayout and ColumnLayout) don’t adjust their size when wrapped inside a ScrollView. I find this strange because they resize perfectly when anchored to most other objects. For now, my solution is to use views instead 🤝 000
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 19/11/2024This is my most recent and fav QML project, FileSorter. The program takes a directory, filters files by a specified extension type, and allows the user to rename them. I created this app to gain a better understanding of how to manage directories in Qt and because I find file explorer tedious :) 000
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 18/11/2024The program takes in a number and stores it in the "val1" variable. The second number is stored in "val2." Any operation on digits after that changes specifically "val2," so we can continue to use the first variable as a reference :) 000
Jadon Montgomery @the-jay-dev.bsky.social · 18/11/2024I think it would be cool to repost a couple projects I made earlier this year in Qt. This one in particular is pretty cool because it works quite similarly to the iPhone app, allowing for more complex equations than the tutorials I could find on the internet. Took me about a week to finish though😂 110
