Playing Silver Pines When Silent Hill hooks up with Twin Peaks and has a baby, you get this terrific blend of themes The game is just MOOD through and through. Action, clunky by design, making you feel vulnerable rather than a badass, and dialogue is vague yet compelling Visuals and voicing? 10/10

Human prompts Claude to "solve" cases and send unsolicited false tips to police. Lets at least be accurate... these agents aren't doing it autonomously

Silent Hill - Townfall (post patch) Solid 7/10 game Not enough meat on the bones for multiple play throughs, and some infuriating mechanisms that mean you will likely just end up blasting your way through to the worst ending The setting is 10/10 though - attention to detail off the charts

I love getting away with provable, public crimes by making a tweet basically saying "Oh well I'm sorry you didn't like me doing crime.. I guess I'll stop then if you feel that way, nerds"

The irony being that since messaging apps became a thing, if someone sends me a voice note, I reply with "Text it you prick.. I don't want to hear your stream of bullshit" It went from tightly focused, cost controlled communication to just a free reign for lunatics to leave 20 minute of nonsense

I love rustling the jimmies of tech bros that think ASI/AGI is around the corner. Pointing out that AI has pretty much already peaked.. exponential gains are no longer possible because it's a monster feasting on its own shit after having consumed everything real brains have created They get mad..

That's really what I miss these days.. the niche communities and forums It was all so specific, and everyone was there because of a shared interest or passion Making the social aspect generic was a huge downgrade

Maybe it's revisionist, or just what I was exposed to but I remember it being incredibly positive Despite 1.0 being passive, and largely static information provision rather than interactive pages, people were still nuts about it I went from bulletin boards to the internet.. that was some upgrade!

I remember articles calling it a fad that wouldn't last, but I guess the difference then to now is that we didn't have algorithms pushing narratives Information was found organically. So absolutely willing to believe there were people hating on it as useless, because web 1.0 pretty much WAS useless!

But I wish I could vote Labour because that what they are proposing will actually make things better. That's my issue with the pedestalling of Burnham. He can do things NOW that will realistically help people and restore some hope, but chose not to

Nope @the-false-prophet.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
It's not that exactly, but I can't blame you for thinking it because reading it back that IS how I come across. Without a desire to actually change things now, nothing Burnham says, at least for me, has any real weight. Of course I will vote tactically to deny Reform

I was an early adopter with my trusty 14.4k baud modem, and my friends would come over to my place and we would mess about on the internet No one hated it.. And conversely, no one is going around to anyone's house now because they have the new AI models

I use Tor to give me that nostalgic dopamine hit of the internet wild west.. you never know what you're going to find. Could be amazing, could be horrifying The web today is the same few sites peddling slop and being linked by every other site. This place is one of the last hold outs

Ah fair enough. I don't entirely disagree with the OPs proposal, I just object to the deification of a single person as the cure to everything. Look how that is going in the US when they crown a mad king? Agree on the timing. He the person in the frame at the time when its critical.

Not saying overall he is doing a bad job, I'm just not erecting statues, because he's just another in a long line of PMs that change very little because of the constraints of the electoral cycle Right now, I'd 100% vote Labour because I'm a Reform heavy area and they are the only real opposition
110
Nope @the-false-prophet.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
Bait for what purpose? I just don't see a single person as the cure to all our ills.. He had the chance to bring in changes to the triple lock, electoral reform etc etc but rather than do it now while in power, deferred it as electioneering fodder THAT is the bait.

Nope @the-false-prophet.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
Don't disagree with that, but it can be any stuffed suit. He isn't an answer to anything other than some performative pro Northern rhetoric. If anything, we're more reliant on Reform tearing itself to pieces through their own sleaze problems than we are a competent Labour leader

"He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!" You basically deifying him as our only potential saviour is red flag city. "Last chance" is reactionary nonsense Best of a bad bunch? Sure.. but that's our politics today I'm a bleeding heart leftie, but same as Corbyn. He's not a messiah

Buffet Infinity is a bonkers movie.. If you were a fan of the Adult Swim infomercials, or there was another series similar that had Teleshopping horror (usually with hair ending up in everything) this might resonate Eldritch horror told through layers of advertising.. inventive stuff!

Agreed, they have been a fucking shambles, but we're in a unique timeline where people are genuinely seeing the hurt of Brexit, and support for PR is largely established. Tories can't lie their way to public consensus, because Badenoch is a complete moron and couldn't put an argument together

This is my point. Sticking to red lines is a colossal mistake. They were pledges made by people no longer in the frame Put it to the people as a referendum, then it proves that they have the will of the people without needing to call a GE Ironically red lines are going to be the death of Labour
120
Nope @the-false-prophet.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
Faster, harder, put these things to the people NOW via referendum. Not in 2030 when Labour might not be in a position to actually enact any of this.. Great messages, shit timelines.

Nope @the-false-prophet.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
And the biggest problem is that opposition parties do not have to rely on objective truth, so they can just make shit up, and because the average person is "an average person" they will buy it and vote accordingly That's how we ended up with Brexit

Nope @the-false-prophet.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
I 100% support everything coming out of the convention, but delaying it so much is just giving the Tories and Reform enough time to poison the well And we can see, they started their revisionism and divisive rhetoric immediately. We now have 2+ years of both parties derailing and smearing Labour

No end game. It's a delay to continue the grift. AI has peaked and they are waiting for humans to create more to scrape, because it's been feeding on its own "output" for ages Data centers are the tell.. it's a linear scaling model Exponential gains are done
