Chuck Varga from GWAR passed from cancer a few days ago. Bruno Kramm of Das Ich died suddenly after a show, as well. Chad Gilbert who was in Shai Hulud (and NFG) also lost his long battle with cancer recently.

It's interesting to me what replaying video games brings out. I played Skyrim extensively from 2011 to 2017. I recently picked the game back up and have a deeper and more ethnographic interest in the lore of the Reachmen (Forsworn).

Today I went from calm to anxious to depressed and couldn't figure out why. Then I had a clear "Oh. Yeah." moment. Grief and loss are difficult things. Our smiles say it all. We made each other laugh until we were in tears. Thus was the Navy Ball in Diego Garcia, October 2006. Almost 20 years ago.

On Friday one of my closest friends passed away. He was young, only 56. Scott was a wild, esentric, caring, passionate man. He was my leader, mentor, & the most important person in my Navy career. I loved him dearly. I keep crying. I have so many & too few words. Miss ya man. "How's yer coffee?!"

Feeling rough again. Still managed to run errands, make dinner (lentil soup), dessert (orange posset), and get most of my weekly cleaning done. Records going makes this easier, too. Almost done and I think I'll boot up a new Skyrim playthrough.

The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io, which, appropriately, means “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big”.

The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.

We know that America is changing. Their trading relationships, their foreign policies, their national monuments, their hydronyms.

Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario – then, now and always.
