It depends on the person. "transfem" and "transmasc" are accepted compound terms, "transwoman" and "transman" less so. In my case it was to cut down on skeet length budget. Separate words is the default. I'm only one person.

Alia Hutchins @the-agl-group.com · 16/02/2026

I know incrementalism is a pain in the ass because it's slow and clogged up in bureaucracy, and trans people are the "easiest" sacrificial lamb for non-progressive politicians, but I'd rather take the person who might stab me over the person actively sending death squads out to other communities.

Alia Hutchins @the-agl-group.com · 16/02/2026

As a transwoman with loved ones in vulnerable communities, between a flawed Democrat and a fascist, I'm obviously voting for the flawed Democrat because MAGA fascism can't be allowed to continue. Newsom might not be an ally but if he's the blue candidate, I'm voting for him anyways.

There's really only two feasible ways of social change: incrementalism or insurrection People understandably don't want insurrection because it's scary and fatal (understandably) But then they refuse incrementalism because they see it as limp-dicked So they end up even more impotent in inaction

please stop forgetting how elections work i beg of you @tonygoldmark.bsky.social · 14/02/2026

one party is literally terrorizing entire communities, openly campaigned on doing so, and that third of the electorate chose not to vote against that because they've been indoctrinated by capitalism to view voting as another form of shopping

Realistically, the Orange House is probably trying to calculate if and for how long they could get away with an AI Trump as a puppet cult leader when he kicks the bucket Obviously that plan would fall apart for any and all in-person obligations so it wouldn't last long politically

We should have a term for stuff like this, a video-specific variant of "abandonware." Something you can find with a little digging, maybe in low quality, but isn't rare, just abandoned by its rights holder.

Unfortunately a lot of 2000s kids anime dubs have rather generic openings - Mega Man NT Warrior and Powerpuff Girls Z both had typical clip show / existing intro recut with an instrumental modified dub score snippet underneath. Catchy, but without much of a story to research.

010

Alia Hutchins @the-agl-group.com · 09/05/2025

The DBZ Kai English dub opening is a favorite but it's a very boring one to talk about since it's just a straight English version of Dragon Soul on a barely modified intro, there's nothing interesting or unique about it whatsoever on its own or in the context of the era

110

Alia Hutchins @the-agl-group.com · 09/05/2025

I think the old dub Sailor Moon opening is fascinating because it's a rare case of making a whole new opening with new English lyrics around the melody of the Japanese opening, a surprisingly classy thing to do in an otherwise loose localization

One of my biggest pet peeves: spelling the abbreviation of "because" as "cos" THERE'S NO 'O' IN "BECAUSE" USE "'CAUSE" OR IF YOU REALLY WANT JUST THREE LETTERS "CUZ" IT MAKES IT SOUND LIKE YOU'RE CHEWING ON ROCKS skeet over

I cannot believe that elected officials are taking this lunatic's rambling to turn Canada (the whole country) into State #51 seriously and are acting like they have any power to make it happen We should not have to endure the end-of-life crisis induced destructive insanity of Orange Man

Alia Hutchins @the-agl-group.com · 12/03/2025

Like yeah, the fluidity of the animation in TDTEBU is premium, but everything surrounding the film makes it feel like a DTV special and not a theatrical experience. We need a new The Lion King for the next generation, not a badly marketed Looney Tunes special.

010

Alia Hutchins @the-agl-group.com · 12/03/2025

Also I might get flak for this but Looney Tunes is exactly the wrong IP to be the canary in the coal mine, not because people don't like it, but because LT 2D media is highly associated with TV, getting people to buy tickets to a really long TV episode perpetuates the devaluing of 2D animation.

110

Alia Hutchins @the-agl-group.com · 12/03/2025

Conflicted because I want western prestige 2D animation to return but I also really dislike the toon style of TDTEBU

The fact that we now know for 100% sure that leaked script was real, complete with drug jokes, Trump references, jabs at other media, and fake "passive-progressive" dialogue... this was a massive dodged bullet. And they brought Tom Kenny into this...

Since Sonic X and the JP intro song "Sonic Drive" is trending again on the other site for being almost 21 years old, I'm thankful for the @sonicf.bsky.social team for introducing English fans to the song- looking up the full version after hearing the clip in the intro was a transcendant experience.

020

Alia Hutchins @the-agl-group.com · 27/02/2025

I wonder if it's because ScarVio scared the shit out of their two-at-a-time Switch strategy or if it's because they're just waiting for Switch 2 to brute force their poor optimization. I'm glad they didn't announce a new generation, but this really could have been an email.

Honestly I went back to TSR after playing the SRCW beta for a bit and I think the fandom treated it too harshly; it's actually really good once you understand the team mechanics and the item balance, tracks, and music are way better than SRCW

100

Alia Hutchins @the-agl-group.com · 22/02/2025

It's a decent beta that plays online well but not as good as I hoped I'm actually appreciating Team Sonic Racing more now

020

Alia Hutchins @the-agl-group.com · 22/02/2025

Quick thoughts: - The "CrossWorlds" gimmick isn't particularly fun - Removing flight mobility tricks for the sake of single Joy-Con is a mistake - The soundtrack is oddly ass, especially in the final lap mixes - Items need heavy rebalancing - HUD has too many elements - Seriously ditch the chanting
