It's like the jumpscare of 2026

ThatNukemGuy @thatnukemguy.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

Recently someone contacted me via email and offered me first look at a console port of Doom that was VERY complete and would have garnered a lot of views, it was genuinely impressive. It was vibecoded and they disclosed that so my interest in covering it went to zero instantly.

Haha, the day I start using AI slop to make videos is the day you can put a fork in me, I'll be done

Watching a channel I enjoyed watching slip into the AI slop bucket is grim.

I'm back from being ill & taking a bit of time off to fully recover. My first act is to tell you that if you put into your browser thatnukemguy.com - you will now be taken straight to my Youtube channel. May or may not make a website at some point but for the long-term, this is for ease of access!

One of the strangest comments I've received on my videos. As a channel that is Doom orientated and covers a lot of 90s FPS games, I don't think they understand that me being critical of such a game isn't me acting out of line. Also the implication that I'm lazy 👀

Just a quick note that I'm quite ill with a chest infection currently so no streams for a few days.

Sadly no stream tonight. I had an incredibly busy day and I'm exhausted. Apologies to those who wanted a stream this evening, will make up for.

New video on the channel... actually a remastered/fixed version of a video I posted last year that had a number of issues. If you watched the original, there's not that much new here. Just a lot of fixes and tweaks. www.youtube.com/watch?v=slYt...

OMG. 29 years ago I put an Easter egg in Duke Nukem 3D Mac, that replaced two of the in-game posters with pictures of a couple plush animals I had. I never told anyone other than my wife about the code (DNGLENDA) and completely forgot I did this. 1/2

Two screen shots from Duke Nukem 3D showing a pixelated bunny and cow in the game.

A brown plush rabbit and a black and white plush cow

Genuinely cannot thank everyone who has supported the Backlog channel as it continues to grow. 2 1/2 months it took to reach full YouTube Partnership. So so many plans and ideas for the coming weeks and months. Thank you ♥️

People complaining about the remake of Ocarina of Time just remember the original N64 version is still there. The 3DS version is still there. You don't have to accept this new one, there's plenty of Ocarina of Time to go around

Really happy that this video has finally cracked 10k views. Probably still my favourite video on the channel and I'm glad that it's finding an audience all these years later youtu.be/AiKXZdCpVSU
