Do you ever see an image and think “I don’t know what that film is about though I’m gonna watch that”

ThatMasonBoiii @thatmasonboiii.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

The best ghibli film is getting screenings starting from this weekend 🙌 Cineworld, odeon, vue, bfi, picturehouse all have it on so definitely recommend finding a local screening or even making a trek to see it if needed. It’s so good especially if you like cats 🐈

Really not getting the whole “lanterns isn’t like the comics” thing. It might not be though I’m liking it as its own thing and you know where you can get an experience that is 100% like that of the comics? The comics.

Obsession, Bone Temple, Leviticus. Mad that three of the best films of the year are horrors. Love to see it

Really dug the start of Lanterns. Bringing back the detective to detective comics. They got the stoicism of John, and the gun-ho spirit of Hal right. Looking forward to seeing how the rest of the show goes.

Last night the harbour arm at Folkestone was packed with families watching Jaws on the free big screen. It was absolutely rammo and folks even cheered at THE LINE. Amazing experience and just shows people DO want to see classics on the big screen providing they are affordable

Just seen an advert for a forky toy on Disney plus which completely negates the whole point behind forky haha (the idea being you can be creative and make your own toys)

Didn’t get it though it’s hard for everyone right now so I’m glad someone got it at least. I’ll lick my wounds and get back at it

A friend of mine is thinking of doing an album party at his place next weekend. We listen to people's suggestions and share what we thought. What would you pick? It's gotta be something off the beaten path. I'm toying with Leif vollebekk - new ways

Toy story 5 was perfectly fine at best. In regards to are kids spending too much time on devices, I was wondering if we ought to ban social media for the over 16s too because lord knows sometimes I feel like i'm on my phone too much haha 😅

Had job interview today; did ok considering I haven’t had one in a while (my last job I was at for six/seven years). Find out next week if I got it.

Wow disclosure day was really empty and disappointing. I wonder if that’s because I inherently find a film about “aliens actually exist you know” kind of infantile and boring compared with all the media that’s covered the same ground before. Never felt so in the minority

010

ThatMasonBoiii @thatmasonboiii.bsky.social · 12/06/2026

Job interview next week. Not too shabby to take into the weekend. I’ll take that

Damn there's some really interesting bands listed here. I bet the story of the now thats what I call music would be an interesting read. Points if you can guess who I submitted

Obviously don’t blast music on a train, however this is the first time someone doing it is playing something I actually like (girls girls girls by motley crue).

If you also laughed at Chiwetel Ejiofor 100% committing to the bit that is the Cap'n Clark mock advert in backrooms. You're my kind of people. I was the only one laughing in my screening haha

What do you think makes a great artist? One idea I’ve had recently about musicians and songwriters is that with the great ones I never feel like I’ve heard everything by them. They either have so much output or have albums I’ve just not got around to listening to

oh bloody hell I just saw about the Duffy documentary and had no idea that happened to her. I don't know what to say those early tunes were fantastic and I just assumed she quit music to do something else, never knew she went through all that. jesus christ. will 100% watch that

Bone Temple was great. Loving Jack O Connell as Jimmy shows how important community and others are; if you went through what jimmy went through as a kid and had no one around to support you or tell you otherwise, you would grow up believing what he did. Howzat.

Catching up on @kermodeandmayo.bsky.social and agree with Mark's take on Deliver Me from Nowhere; its strength is showing people the actual work that goes into writing and making music which is all the more relevant in a streaming age where its devalued and pretty disposable.

Caught up on #XMen97 and its writing is sharper, the characters have more depth and it moves from just entertaining kids to being about something. The fact people in it are volunteering to be a part of the villains programme, is an astute observation of our current times.
