At issue was a Tenneessee law that bars minors from accessing gender-affirming care as they transition from their sex assigned at birth.

Justice Patrick Hodge said five judges at the court had ruled unanimously that "the terms 'woman' and 'sex' in the Equality Act refer to a biological woman and biological sex."

The new research will study the physical and mental health effects of gender transition. It comes on the heels of the administration cutting hundreds of research grants for LGBTQ+ health.
