Good night, and good luck.

Wings of Weave is a manoeuvre you do when you can't shake an opponent on your tail.

I don't know if this is a general problem or a hazard from a rhyme-focused mind, but I do keep confusing Fortune's Weave and Wings of Theve.

Statistically, weird things must happen to people pretty often at Tokyo Tower, since there're always many people there, unlike the average spot on Earth, where there's always just plankton.

As well all know, Galactic Defender Linguini ran for 39 episodes, which is three seasons of Cast Out from the Top-Ranked Diner-Class Party, I Cultivate My Ultimate Pasta-Making Skills to Reconquer the Dungeon.

Incidentally, parts of this poem are used for the song in the opening titles of the Loncraine Richard III: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHcz...

Nipping back through this bit of Deep-Step and Twice-Mortal. Maybe there're things I'd tweak, but I still like the annoyed response to idealised pastoral/shepherd romance here.

Within the queen then force unlooked-for woke.
Forgetting words laid out, she order gave.
‘Abandon wood and want and wet-soaked cloak

and needs that harper great to work enslave;
come live with me, and be my love; I judge
this holt no home for music bright and brave.’

But Orphaneir replied, with hint of grudge,
‘No bauble born am I, no hathel’s toy.
Instead come live with me, and be my drudge,

if listening here to lyre so jolts your joy.’
Guard-troop and courtiers gathered there all laughed
to hear proposal made that must annoy.

Ah, nice. I hope the trip goes smoothly! If nothing else, I found that some temple tickets and some vending machines were still cash only. I still carry a little cash as a matter of course even at home, but found myself bothering more with change while in Japan.

Thaliarchus @thaliarchus.bsky.social · 15h

Oh, when are you going? Having read dire warnings about cash, I was impressed by how many places now do handle plastic—but I did definitely still need to carry change.

I suppose in fairness to Iowa, Nebraska *is* one of the ones where I'm never sure (a) whether it's a city or a state/province and (b) whether it's in the USA or in Canada.

I read manga biographies of pro mahjong players, so basically Idol Manga

If your otaku culture feels like idol stuff, but you’re not sure it’s idol stuff, look again, because it’s probably idol stuff.

IMO stand-alone films tend to have longevity, for several reasons. Maybe I'm wrong, but I imagine people in future will talk about Princess Kaguya, Night is Short, A Silent Voice. It might or might not be a classic, but Your Name is already very widely known.
