We wonder why tournaments get such low turnouts, its probs bc y'all are running similar capped (d5, d7 and d9) tournaments on the same day when there are smaller number of low level teams joining the scene. More tournaments ≠ Better

Soo... i started to play Tetris again. Lemme be the first to admit, i think i need to take a break from Splatoon. Annoyances with people who are in my "skill level" is just wearing me down. if people want me to play, im down, but for now, i just need a game to relax to, Splatoon isnt it chief.

It's one of the reasons I left my last Splatoon team, even though the advice they were giving me wasn't wrong, it was very Railroad-ish, and I personally don't adapt well to that atmosphere.

I didn't say my personal mindset here. My mindset is of one who needs to get that physical experience, understand what's going on and try to make myself better from it. I do play like I have a chip on my shoulder at times, because I know I can be better.

The last ~30% of players are the ones who get hard-stuck because they're not exactly in a position that would benefit them and don't realize it. They love to play the game and, although they feel annoyed about it, need convincing to get out of that rut.

so heres how i see the comp scene at the moment ~10%- upper echelon of players, practicing and actually making the scene ~30% the copycats, players who want to emulate these players but dont know how to fully commit to that style of play ~30% the unusuals, players who improve with off-brand stuff

Some players in Basketball have a "love of the game" clause in their contracts (NASCAR drivers kinda have the same thing when their running races outside of NASCAR) this is also a way to enable more practice and it works for some people.

Researching your past is only going to get you so far; it's about improving yourself, which will enable you to get over those hard-stuck hopes that most players are stuck in, but it's not the only way. for me that's where i stuggle now more than ever to find a team.

back in Splatoon 2 (the RKO days for me) I would constantly drill (and i mean we used to run drills) my team on trying to get the first pick and staying alive to enable the start of a push. you just dont see that anymore, nowadays, you see more analytical studying of past games.

at this point, i dont need to be the best X-rank or SendouQ player in the world or my region, as long as i feel like im making the plays i need to make in order for the team to succeed (i'm not) and find a team around that where we all work together to meet those goals.

ive also come to a conclusion like that, but heres how i view that... <1% of every player is going to be "the best" (in sports the Messi's, McDavid's, James', Otani's, etc.), but outside of that its how you want to improve yourself that shows your mindset.

There are nights where im like, "ooh, cool game lets play" and then i go into the rabbit hole for like 6hours + then there are other night where my mind is in "I wanna play Splatoon 3 with friends", only for none of my friends to want to play Splatoon Tonight is one of those nights... uggh

have to say, Melo kinda nailed the shirts, If i made a TO shirt, mine would be a sploosh saying "look, i TO like i play Splatoon, i run in and stuff happens" (obviously with a picture of a sploosh) my other TO's would say, "my sploosh just dived in again, if i werent here they'd be dead"

Final report: Placed 3rd, tiredness got to me in the last match. Got a little bit of a nap at the airport before the flight home. @ubcesports.ca knows how to put on a fun event and I would definitely recommend if you're in the PNW.

Mid tournament status report Feeling ok after 2 sets, had to play a sploosh game to get my aggression down, but then played really good in the games after. Sometimes being goofy works as a mental reset sometimes

usb-c to usb-a adapter+ethernet adapter, or a straight usb-c ethernet adapter, as long as its compatible with Switch/Switch lite/Switch 2(which is the best-case scenario, since 2 ports) it should solve issues, because most of the time we just plug straight into the headphone jacks anyway for sound

3. I like the new Forza game, but i feel like theres just something off about this one, the progession is a step up from FH5, but the lack of proper upgrade paths and actual cool things to do with some builds (aka theres really only one drag car in the game, and that sucks) make it feel meh.

i feel like if im in mindset a, i can compete with anyone and anything, but its so hard to find a team that settles into that kind of mindset when you barely know people who play comp anymore, so i just become a grouch in mindset b and that just sucks for everyone im around because im too anylitical
