While rehearsing the stations for IOSP I added some final tweaks (hopefully nothing broke). I am most excited about the toon wall. It now shows who has RSVPed, with an emoji for where they signed up, dots for finished stations, and 🍞 and 🤝 lines when people hand a breadcrumb on or connect. #IOSP2026

Playtesting the toon board just now. One airglow.run automation on a memo.dog test account: every humidity reading from the sensor board on my table becomes a toon, and the 🥵 flies across the top lane every ~5 s. The live data lane is the same board. #ATScience #IOSP2026

Thanks for the heads up. The idea behind @breadcrumbs.network is to give users another way to add information to their knowledge trail and to compute trust relationships from it, and this can also be applied to cards in Semble. I am thinking about an card shuffling ideas, unspecified so far.

Most asked in return: what's in it for me? Young scientists who scanned my QR code plan a life as researchers. They know their institutional credentials are time-limited privileges that end with the contract. That shouldn't leak into their social life too. Long-term staff didn't get this.

Apropos filtering: blocking is political action that respects individual agency. I decide what I don't want to see. Nobody decides for me. Extend this to feed building and you create new institutions instead of governing old ones. Rules will emerge from this naturally, not forced by power.

My (naive?) view on disinformation and filter bubbles: scaling up fact-checking creates new problems (censorship, ministry of truth) while one authority decides what information carries. Sorry if that triggers you. Go on if you disagree: some people think sovereignty basically means filtering.
