For that, you’d be better off using a Lattice and creating Hook bone to control it within Pose Mode. You could also have that same bone act as a driver if you know a bit of Python. Blender 5.2 LTS now has an option to directly fit a Lattice within a mesh.

Here’s a tip! Trying placing a corrective smooth modifier under the armature modifier without applying it, and test your mesh in Pose Mode afterwards.

Figment’s 3D model now pretty much fully rigged with custom bone shapes. The root bone is shaped like the symbol used for the Imagination Pavilion at EPCOT.

Figment appears to be lying down dizzy, with yellow stars circling around his head. He is attempting to get back up on his feet, gritting his teeth even, but to no avail. His eyes are spinning in opposite directions to indicate said emotion.
