Ouch. Hope Melbourne is treating you well otherwise.

You should get to win a bluestone block if you make it to the end.

Same here, though I've somehow planned a trip back for voting this time.

Give a man some gravy, he can chug for the rest of the day. Write a hit song with a recipe for gravy he can chug for a lifetime.

My son is currently upset when I try to take him/pick him in the cargo bike. Kids are hard.

"like" doesn't feel like the reaction to this, but I appreciate the work you do. Hope you're doing well and finding a nice home for Alan.

Half my Facebook ads are literal hardcore porn trying to sell pills, the other half are AI celebrity finical scams. There's still sometimes value in the community groups, but I probably spend more time reporting ads than engaging.

Having the gear shift on the same kind of stalk where a Japanese car has the indicator is diabolical.

I had a 2007 one for about 8 years until I got rid of it just recently. Was pretty much a problem free car for us. started having coil issues at about 195,000km, fairly easy to fix each time. Was hard to sell because the cvt was on the way out, even though it still drove fine.

If it felt more like a wine bar and had obscure cheeses I'd have been down

Well I guess I'm glad it was just one brand rather than lightening striking twice. I kind of liked the premise, but the implementation felt weird and the cheese was boring.

A walk out item sounds like something you can walk out without paying for, but I'm guessing that's not at all what it is.

By 300,000 many ice cars transmissions have died effectively writing off the car. Also ice engines definitely start to lose efficiency at some point.

Went back and had another look at the Dixon Veloway bumps/fix. The more I look at it, the happier I am with the fix, also the more I question why it took this long. I also think barring the need for longevity testing they should just fix them all.

I'm fine with the holiday surcharge, but if you have it and aren't paying your staff penalty rates then it should double the punishment.

Did you move overseas and upon moving back end up west and pretty much forgot the inner north exists? Because that's me until your question made me remember. I bet that shop is the same as when I was last there 15 years ago in a good way.

They have a few fully electric and a few hybrid busses in service here, while I'm sure they're great for emissions but I hate the way they go from loud engine noise to silence randomly, just an awkward eerie moment. The quiet whine of electric or loud all the time regular bus is at least consistent.

The states have kept the same euro-centric standards of what a legal e-bike is. It's just the federal government that said it was fine to import whatever for private land use.

If only adopting it as policy and writing a hundred strategy documents, but making no actual changes was enough.

Also the crazy ebike laws are only for QLD. Definitely a moral panic around kids on emotobikes. It's hard to fix that now that they're already widely available so the QLD govt is trying to crack down on legal bikes instead.

Only DIY e-bikes are banned on trains. The original proposal was all, but we fought it and won, a rare win for our local bike organisation that until recently focused way too much on road bike events. There is some good bike infrastructure in the inner north. Rest of the city is lacking.

Did some vibe coding, for something we'll launch soon. Told it to take our existing branding from www.bikewest.org and it downloaded it and came back with this. That's not even a bicycle!
What ai decided is the bike west logo.

It's so hard to read how bad she's got it, but then also know that most people detained probably have it even worse. Appreciate your coverage of it, crazy how once again you're so far ahead of the rest of the NZ media.

Thanks @cityofmelbourne.bsky.social another ride saved by one of these repair stands. Definitely wouldn't have liked my chances on those veloway bumps without a topup.

Is there a word for the feeling when that random leftover bracket that you think you got with your roof racks more years ago than you're willing to remember and kept in the junk drawer is a near enough exact fit for the missing piece on your kids training wheels?
Two brackets, one from training wheels, the other close enough that it should work.
