Last day at the office, packing up my stuff. I will miss the whiteboard quote, as well as the a11y poster peeking over my shoulder in video calls. And the cafeteria. 😢 Starting next month: new org, new processes, new workplace, but same tasks, same employer, same team 😊 (mostly). It's complicated.
A whiteboard on a light grey office wall. On it a short quote in German asking "Seriously?" attributed to "me (constantly)". Next to the quote a small poster reading "a11y is hard for <div>elopers" in all caps except for the <div>.

Seeing the functions behind my experimental fluid type scale, I still don't understand why this currently works for me. bsky.app/profile/tfed...
A graph plot showing five curves on an x,y coordinate system, representing my fluid type scale. The x-axis is labeled "Viewport Inline Size" and the y-axis is labeled "Font Size", showing the relationship between the viewport size and the resulting font size of the scale steps, both in rem. The lines stay horizontal below 13rem and above 150rem of viewport size, locking the scaling factor to 1.1 on very small viewports, and reaching a Perfect Fifth scale at very large viewports. In between these two values, the scale increases along a root function, characterized by a very steep initial increase.

The <template for="x"> syntax of the experimental out-of-order streaming API looked promising. But it seems that I can't misuse it to deduplicate blocks of HTML. I am coming to the conclusion that it deserves its own solution anyway. I hope the [for] on <template> won't be exclusive for streaming.
Interleaved HTML streaming
Does it work at all?
Yes. 😎
Can it be misused to reuse blocks of HTML?
Nope. 😞<!DOCTYPE html>

Make sure to insert your template in an element that your placeholder is a descendant of.

I know German is hard or whatever. One of the reasons is the closed compound words. I also know hyphenation on the web isn’t solved yet. But this is the third word failing within 30 minutes of using the web. All could’ve been avoided with a soft hyphen. At least this one wasn’t cut off.
A screenshot of a part of a website in German showing a card and a call-to-action button. The headline on the card reads Veranstaltungsregistrierung, which is German for event registration. The word is so long that the last to letters wrap onto a second line.

Post a meme made by you
The face from the "you don't say" meme, except the pupils are drifting apart. The text above it reads "deliver value".
