We are top of the league! @newcastleunited.com hit top spot in WSL2 with an exciting display against Sheffield United at Gateshead International Stadium. Aussies Oxtoby and Torpey doing superb work at the Toon; read all about it here at Impetus Football : impetusfootball.org/2026/09/23/t...

Lovely touch by the Epping FC player on the mic at the 30W Div 1 final trophy presentation - “Flying Bats we love playing you, please stay.” Exciting finish to the game, Bats reducing the arrears with 10 to go and making a real contest of it. Season over. Congrats to Epping on the win. #football

So, did you head to Allianz Stadium last night in the hope of seeing @tottenhamhotspur.com humbled by @sydneyfc.bsky.social? Did you watch it on telly? The new @aleague.bsky.social season is still a long way away, but the EPL team was pushed all the way. Match round up in the comments. Let's go...

Today's the day. Spent half my life living in Aus. To say that I've embraced my opportunity to live in this wonderful diverse, multicultural country would be an understatement. Fiercely proud of my country, Aussie citizen, Australian kids and an Aussie partner. I am, you are, we are Australian!

The Matildas vs Anna Black. Not your ordinary children's story, this is the coming-of-age of a youth player from Sydney's suburbs, finding her way into the @aleague.bsky.social and making a name for herself with the national team. Via @fairplaybooks.bsky.social - ebook, paperback and audiobook.

This is Kerrie. Her journey through brain cancer has touched many and she was compelled to write a book to share the story. Here she is, surrounded by those who love her; friends, family and teammates at the local pub enjoying the book launch. Fantastic, well done you! #BrainCancerGroup

An important #author milestone in the next Jarrod Black novel. We've clicked over 20k words. This is no longer an idea, it is something tangible. Excited to see where the story goes from here. Want to be a character in this one? Tell me what part you'd play in a #football novel - it may come true.

Coach Joe Montemurro wished the AFC Women’s Cup started next week. There is energy in the squad and the players are buying into the fast flowing football philosophy. Don’t be surprised to see The Matildas taking risks when they next take the field in March. Bring it on! @the-matildas.bsky.social

Hey, I'm writing a new book. Football fiction novel no. 7 is underway. Life is relentless at the moment, so progress has been slow, and there's simply too much football going on. Season's nearly over. Time to get cracking. #author #writer #books #AuthorsOfTwitter #writing #novels #fiction #reading

@vizcomic.bsky.social Here's my rather poor attempt at a Viz-style joke. "I've got a couple of bucks burning a hole in my pocket" I'm sure you could draw it better and put it in a better context. Hey, I'm no cartoonist.

Match Day Minus One training for @the-matildas.bsky.social. Smiles, sunshine, laughter and a good tempo. It's amazing what an extra hour's sleep can do for the soul. Game day can't come quickly enough. See you in Newcastle. #matildas #australia #womensfootball #womenssoccer #sydney #newcastle

I don't know why I post on @bsky.app - the amount of engagement is minimal. Maybe it's what I post, it just doesn't go to anyone new, maybe my circle is too small. But post I will; surely this is a better place to hang out than the alternative. Here's a review of Anna Black - This Girl Can Play.

First game of the year at Commbank Stadium yesterday and it was an exciting one. Without the benefit of commentary, I thought Kraev should have gone for his leg-breaker in the opening stages, and I was concerned that the ref was too lenient. Family man Luke Brattan waving to his family. Wholesome.

This is Margaret. She is the matriarch of the Smith family and an avid reader, but not normally of football books. Perhaps one of my most honest critics, the feedback from my latest novel Abebi blew me away. She loved it. "You are a good story teller." Means more than you'd think. Validated! #mam
