Oh absolutely, I love seeing the same subject tackled by different times/cultures/people. This work by Everett Patterson is one of my favorite depictions of the nativity. It reminds the viewer of the humble origins of Jesus & the painting is framed as if something passing you'd see out a car window.

Shout out to Hunt for Red October for not using a "Я" as a "R" in the title sequence. I know that took a lot of restraint. I actually checked the opening title, they tried to show actual Cyrillic! Though several letters are not found in the Russian alphabet & it's not how you'd spell "Red October."

For the ones I've seen, I respect your choices. Generally I agree. Also I am once again asking you to read Dinosaur Sanctuary. Despite you not being into manga, I think there's a lot of things you'll appreciate that they've done in both how dinosaurs are portrayed and the up-to-date science.

There's a cat name that sometimes pops up in Japanese media: ニャーコ (Nyāko). It's a pun on the word for "Cat" in Japanese ねこ (Neko) and the Japanese onomatopoeia for the sound a cat makes にゃあ (Nya).

Actually, any Spider-Man fan would tell you there have been numerous adaptations that explored a more body horror concept of Peter Parker's mutation. Marvel/DC have been around since WWII, so chances are if you make a hypothetical as a joke, they already made that as an adaptation decades ago.

Yeah, The History of the Netherlands Podcast actually did an excellent damatization of the events that took place, both giving you perspective as to what it would have been like to be a Dutch sailor in that time as well as the Lord of the Flies-esque scenario the sailors found themselves in.

Compare this Coke ad from Life Magazine in the 40's to the superbowl AI ad. It's a beautiful piece, but nearly 1/3 of the ad is taken up by text a horrible design choice by today's standards but then it was expected for consumers to actually read ads at the time and had less vying for attention. 3/3

Learning about the Little Ice Age & Medieval Warm Period is funny because you see a map of global average temperatures for the last 2000 years and you think "oh wow, a change in half a degree had such a big societal impact that's really- AAAAAAAAA WHY IS IT STARTING TO SKYROCKET!"
