@acollierastro.bsky.social my good friends (retired geologists) are desperately trying their best to do the good work here in Utah, but they might've produced the worst example of science communication I've ever seen. I don't know how to explain to them how poorly this works as an example.

The real concern with vibecoding is the "understanding gap". Programmers have always said LGTM on reviews, but at least the original author used to actually have a map of the codebase in their head. Now we have more code, no mental map, and thus more inexplicable outages
