Tesla Takedown, Ottawa, ON

If we take a week off, like we did last week, we will tell you up front and why. Last week we wanted to boost numbers for the big protest at the US embassy and provided details for that event. We’ll be back out there on Saturday, April 19th at 11 am. Hope to see you there.

Elon Musk is destroying our neighbour’s democracy, and he's using the fortune he built at Tesla to do it. We are taking action at the Tesla dealership to help stop Musk. If he is not stopped in the US...

Tesla Takedown | Take action at Tesla showrooms everywhere.

I believe that we always need to stand up to oppose racism, actively and vocally. Now more than ever. If you believe this too, please join us on Saturdays from 11 am - 1 pm at 835 Carling Avenue. Always check TeslaTakedown.com for specific details of our next event.

The stakes couldn’t be higher. No one is coming to save us—not politicians, not the media.

The #TeslaTakedown protests are a very easy way for you to say, “Nope, not today you racist moron” or something along those lines. Canada is at a crossroads - do you want to oppose racism or allow it to flourish here? What do you want our society to be? #Ottawa #BoycottTesla #ElbowsUp

Canadians, especially those in any public service role, should be more than just not racist. They should be actively anti-racist. How else can governments implement the Calls to Action? Everyone must take action to oppose racism. #Ottawa #TeslaTakedown

And I know #Ottawa residents can be very quiet re: public protests. Especially public servants. Here’s how I see it: we are protesting an openly racist man and his business interests. We just had the Truth and Reconciliation Commission re: residential schools. #TeslaTakedown

We have a great crew of dedicated weekly protesters. We really need people to spread the word so we can grow this protest. Yes, we’re divided from the US by a border but Musk is a vocal racist and Nazi. No one should support him. A border doesn’t change that. #Ottawa #TeslaTakedown #BoycottTesla

All in all, a good protest. Lots of support from drivers. A handful of negative comments from pedestrians - young men, of course. But they have the right to express their views too. But we would really like to see more people come out. #Ottawa #TeslaTakedown #BoycottTesla #ElbowsUp

And messages written on the sidewalk in front of the #Tesla dealership in chalk. #Ottawa #BoycottTesla #TeslaTakedown #ElbowsUp

Chalk message on sidewalk: Tesla is a Ponzi Scheme.

Chalk message written on the sidewalk: Tesla Funds Tyranny.

Chalk message written on the sidewalk: Deport Elon to Mars.

Chalk message written on the sidewalk: Don’t Buy a Swasticar.

And my dad - recently moved to #Ontario - at his first protest … in his 70s. Honk This, Elon! Dad’s a retired high school history rachee. He knows what’s up. #Ottawa #TeslaTakedown #BoycottTesla #ElbowsUp

Man in a winter coat with a dark toque and gloves holding a protest sign with a pair of Canada geese taking off in flight. The sign reads: Honk This Elon!

And we can’t forget the important message that we should send Elon to Mars. He was, of course, named Elon after the lead character in a 1953 Nazi-authored book about a mission to Mars. Except Elon meant “The Leader” in the book. #TeslaTakedown #BoycottTesla #Ottawa #ElbowsUp

Protest sign that states: Deport Elon to Mars.

Protest sign that states: Don’t Buy Cars From Nazis! The sign also has a crossed out swastica.

Some new signs this week. The bilingual sign is held by a person who was visiting #Ottawa from #Montreal and who decided to come to our protest. #BoycottTesla #TeslaTakedown #ElbowsUp

Protest sign of a full colour Canada goose saying the words ‘Honk if you hate Swasticars’.

Bilingual English-French protest sign. There is a black and white image of Elon Musk in the upper left corner doing a Nazi salute. The words read: Musk is a Felon, His Place is in Prison. Musk est un Felon, sa Place est en Prison.

Protest sign with a Canadian flag in the upper right corner. The words state: But Canadian - Boycott American. This protester was also wearing a ball cap with the same message and holding a good sized Canadian flag on a short pole.

More signs! Mine is the white power steering one - thanks to the brilliant folks in London, England putting up the brilliant bus shelter ads. And two simple but very effective signs. #Ottawa #TeslaTakedown #BoycottTesla #ElbowsUp

Political sign with an image of Elon Musk at the bottom doing a Nazi salute at Trump’s inauguration. The text reads: Tesla- Now with white power steering.

Protest sign that simply states Elbows Up!

An easily available red and white danger sign one can find at many stores. The sign was turned into a protest sign when the hold wrote ‘fascism’ into the blank space such that the sign reads ‘Danger - Fascism’.

The artist brought this guy too. Definitely NOT advertising #Tesla cars. Haha! But as you would note, despite this tube man’s left hand being tied down even he didn’t want to put up his right arm in a Nazi salute. Be more like tube man! #Ottawa #TeslaTakedown #BoycottTesla #ElbowsUp

Here are the other political art pieces the artist brought. #Ottawa #TeslaTakedown #BoycottTesla #ElbowsUp

Person wearing a large paper mache Elon Musk mask with dark brown yarn for hair. You can clearly see the yarn represents Elon Musk’s hair plugs. The person is also wearing a black t-shirt with sparkly silver lettering across the front spelling DOGE. The person is also holding a small plastic red and black chainsaw.

A person wearing a very good homemade penguin mask with their arms held up as wings. Elbows up or wings up.

A small dress form type item covered by a pair of small dark pants, small black shoes, and a small long sleeved white shirt. The head of the dress form is covered by a print out of an image of an upset toddler. The sign beside this art piece states “I’m not a meat shield.”

Some images from yesterday’s #TeslaTakedown in #Ottawa, #Canada. More creative política art from a local artist. The tiny hands take this one over the top for me. Much better weather and a small but dedicated group. We’d love more of you to join us. #BoycottTesla #ElbowsUp
